Computer problems this morning
I don't know what the deal is, but it has something to do with cookies or some cache problem......maybe coming from Facebook.
All morning long I've been on the phone with my brother trying to get this figured out. He "took over" my computer from where he was and ran all kinds of things on it to see if he could figure out what the problem was. I eventually had to plug it directly into the modem with an Ethernet cable so it would stay on line.
He updated some drivers and we hoped that would work, but the minute I tried to go into Facebook it would log me off line. So, he cleared my browsing history and cleared cookies thinking that might help, but it didn't.
He switched me over to Firefox and I logged all my crapolla in and it seems to be working now. If any of you are having similar issues you might try changing browsers. I hope to figure out what is going on with Chrome, but I'm not hopeful.

Google got attacked by hackers in China and Russia.

My super phone HTC 626+ has been fine - I use a full size Bluetooth keyboard and connect wireless to the television and basically use it as my laptop
19 app updates Sunday - including all the Google apps - I am guessing with fixes and patches
Why does google have no night mode - everything else on the phone does
But I noticed no browser issues - 49 apps at last count

We are running on Firefox for now and I haven't had any problems since this.....but while we were trying to make chrome work he updated some drivers, cleared my cache, cookies and browsing history. It looked like Chrome was running Gun Broker fine, but the minute we tried opening FB things got sketchy and it logged me back off line. Then we rebooted the computer and skipped on over to Firefox. I haven't seen any of the problems since. I'd like to get Chrome sorted out, but I'm too busy right now to spend 1/2 the day dinking around on this. So, I'm going to leave it like it is for now.
I have made a total MESS out of things getting this crap done.
Larry's computer is next to the modem...so, to get mine plugged into the modem directly we had to unplug his and I THOUGHT his monitor would plug into my machine. It turned out his plugs are different than mine, so my brother was working on my computer for a while without me seeing anything he was doing or being able to help at all.
Now that mine is back to "somewhat" normal I've got to plug all his stuff back in. I hate wires and plugs....its a dusty nest of confusion....always.0 -
To clear your browser cache/cookies/etc
In either Firefox or Chrome, press control+shift+delete and you'll get a dialog. Uncheck as appropriate - you probably want to keep saved passwords, but do clear cache and cookies "for forever".
Can't help more with out better report of what is actually happening... "go into facebook it would log you offline" - does that mean that it was disconnecting your internet, or crashing the browser or what? If disconnecting, how do you connect to the internet?0 -

I have two screens....typically I have two tabs open on each screen. Gun Broker, the forums, my email, and Facebook. Yesterday it appeared that I was on line if you looked at my internet connection where the wifi info is, but every page had that little trex and "cannot display page" with a message saying no internet connection......even though the computer said it was on line. After clearing all the cookies and doing all the scans possible it looked like it was better, but once you opened Facebook it only displayed one or maybe two of the posts and none of the ads on the sides were visible. It looked like it was trying to load things, but they weren't coming through......a couple minutes and my brother could no longer see my computer from his location where he was using Team Viewer to work on my machine. When we switched over to Firefox Facebook's page was complete, no white boxes and you could scroll down to see all the posts. So, I don't know if Chrome was an issue or the combo of FB and Chrome was doing something to my computer.....but yesterday I couldn't stay connected to the computer until we stopped using Chrome.0 -
This happens to me everyday because I do it intentionally
Like i said in one of my posts I disconnect each computer when not in use
Now shown I?m activating this bad computer that does not listen to me.

my internet provider is Centurylink.net I was on the phone for the better part of an hour this afternoon trying to get my desktop to connect, it kept saying my DSL was connected but not the internet , I don't understand how one can be connected and not the other , they had to go in and recon-figure my router, name , pass words etc.
the lady that was helping me said they had been doing a bunch of security upgrades and that was why every thing was messed up0
