S&W Governor - I think I "need" one

drobs
I own 2 45 acp 1911's.
I own a .410 single shot shotgun.
I own 2 45 Colt black powder conversion cylinders and guns to go with them.

Seems to me, I "need" a modern $&W governor.

What say you?

    I've often kicked around the idea of a governor. Great walking the property gun. .410 for snakes and 55 colt for groundhogs and other varmints

    Having sold the Thunder 5, anybody remember those boat anchors, Taurus Judges, and S&W Governors I still can't understand the draw of these guns.They don't do anything well and there are much better guns around for protection from snakes or legged threats. But to each their own and if these big clunky "pocket shotguns" appeal to you then by all means scratch that itch. The S&W is much better than the Taurus by the way and will allow you to fire .45 acp as well as the .45 Colt and .410.

    If your the outdoors type like me I say get it.....I love my 3" Judge, it has save me several times from being bitten by rattlers while walking and moccasins while fishing. They're definetly not precision target shooters but damn good defense guns to have handy for us country Bumkins [;)]

    I had one a few years back but a guy at another gun shop really wanted it so I sold it.

    i own one taurus public defender 2" the others sizes worthless does throw buckshot good,,will not tolerate forgien 410 shells to long when fired

    Not my cup of tea, not at all.. Kinda like buying an adjustable wrench instead of a set of wrenches designed for the job at hand.. Are you going to carry a pocket full of different ammo for different situations?. By no means am I trying to be an a-hole, but you did ask for opinions..[;)]

    Drobs, I can tell you that at the shows I work they show up at gun check looking for new owner regularly. The Taurus version several per show, every show and the Smiths two or three. Apparently the charm fades quickly.

    Why not go with the Taurus raging judge Magnum. It not only shoots the 45 colt, the 410, but it also shoots the 454 casull... Then you would have a beer gun...
