I finally am getting my first Colt!

I own more than a few 1911s...none of them Colts.

I own a .357 magnum...but it's a Smith and Wesson 686. I'm not a revolver guy actually.

I really want a good condition Colt Navy revolver...a la Clint Eastwood.

But I finally bought a late '70s Colt Python, and it should be here in a few days. I'm absolutely thrilled. Six inch barrel, beautiful blue.

I was very excited to finally add a true Colt to my collection.

Now I find out that this weekend I have to visit my brother in law in Wisconsin--he has TWO Colt 1911 Government Models from WWI and WWII he is GIVING me, from his late father's collection. I'm going up on Friday.

In one week I go from zero to three. Sometimes dreams come true. [^]

    Yup, they live in Cambridge, MA, and are both so Liberal and anti-gun that I can't believe his father owned a weapon...much less two 1911s. Father was a medical doctor, they are both astrophysicists.

    They don't want the guns in their possession, so I'm the lucky guy! [:D]

    I'll have to ask if there are any others hidden around that they want me to "relieve" them of!

    I do believe family heirlooms leaving the state will not effect his inheritance, since there isn't any way to actually prove when he got it. yesterday...10 20 30 years ago. follow me? since its in 'family' a do believe hes ok.

    I'm in Nebraska. Should be ok. I think these are heirlooms, and certainly C & R.

    NavyBat...thinking you will be okay getting these firearms back home isn't a risk you should take...check all the angles and make sure you have the "I"s dotted and the "T"s crossed.

    The East Coast gun laws can really give you some grief if you happen to run into a Barney Fife.

    To clarify?

    They live in MA, but the pistols are at their father's house in Wisconsin. I am taking them from Wisconsin to Nebraska.

    Toad, the second one is going right next to the first one! [:D]

    And the Python is going to the range as soon as I get it. Always wanted a Python shooter.
