National carry for $400
Would you pay $400 a year to carry nationally, and call your self a police officer? A scheme has been uncovered in a small New Mexico community, Lake Arthur where the volunteer "auxiliary" Police Chief has been selling police credentials for $400 per year. You don't need to live in the town, or state for that matter, send him a check and he'll have credentials drawn up in your name.

One of their "members" that live 240 miles away bought his own police car to keep at this house, to "deter" crime. Several celebrities have been caught up in this mess...

I think he actually volunteers as a auxiliary. Shaq also was made a "honorary" Deputy out here in Bedford Co by the Sheriff for his support of ICAC. Supervised participation is different then mailing a check and receiving creds. Most of the auxiliary LEOs around here received, a few weeks of training and have to ride with a professional officers.0 -

I believe Ted Nugent is also some type of reserve law enforcement officer in Texas. Lou Ferrigno- the Hulk- is a reserve deputy in Ca. There is also Erik Estrada of CHIPS, singer Eddie Money and Dennis Farina, host of Unsolved Mysteries among other credits. Farina was an actual cop in Chicago for many years before he broke into acting. One of the Hawaiians on Hawaii 5-0 was an actual cop; don't recall the man's name. 0 -
