ever notice a small project grows
I have several repair projects on going [B)]
started on the 8n ford tractor clutch decided to go bad [:(]
as my luck I split the tractor as I was taking parts off noticed several other things I might as well change while I had it torn down
the tack ( proof meter ) cable was bad and leaking , the battery box was rusty beyond a reasonable repair repop are 35.00 radiator hoses unknown how old , the throttle rod had so much slop and wear so its on the replacement list so all that and a few more parts on the way by next wed.
while I had it torn down decided to give it a 50.00 paint job 12.00 a quart for the red and gray and 10.00 for the reducer at tractor supply .
I power washed it all then gave it a earl shrives (sp) paint job ( you know a 20 footer ) also the 6' pull mower one of the spindles had worked its was loose and ate away the bolt holes so I had my son do a rough cut patch plate ( he has a plasma cutter ) should take care of it but more welding and grinding and what the heck might as well paint it also
next up my wifes element the ball joints are showing some wear
feel the tire move ever so slight . I have the parts for it and my old 94 gmc pick up the A /C bit the dust I have rounded up the parts for it also
then the wife is giving me the eval eye, I have one of our room's half way done in our house that going to be her craft area or / woman cave [:D][:D][:D]
+ a assortment or small jobs .. I worked less before I retired [:D][:D]

I have a bathroom mostly torn apart (left the toilet hooked up) that I'm not sure when time and money will permit me to get at again.
The truck I recently purchased, needs a new thermostat and an O2 sensor, as well as little things fixed like the AC, cruise control, and could use a good grease/oil session of the springs, hinges, etc.
Our fence around our yard needs to be replaced. I have braced and bandaged it up numerous times and at this point I'm running out of band-aides. [:D]
I also have new tires that need to be installed on my Jeep. That one will definitely get done by my mechanic friend.
Good luck on your projects DR. I have heard so many people tell me that they were way busier after retirement than before.

I will be in the same boat . I have always took on way more projects than needed .. I guess the dreamer in me come thru
I always see a finished project in my mind when I find a broken / rusty item be it car or what ever comes along [^]

Let me make it easy on you guys.
You go to a friends house and fix the problems he don't want to do. Then he comes to your house and does the same. It may not be the way either one likes it, but it doesn't seem like either one of you did much work and it gets done.0 -

well the wifes element is done replaced the tie rod ends and cabin filters and oil change that was the easy one ,
the old 8n tractor is finished just kept throwing parts at it while I had it down for the clutch replacing worn parts
also did a 45.00 pait job on it ( 20 footer [:D][:D], )
I welded a panel in the finish mower to support the spindle and gave it a 25.00 paint job also , quart of tractor paint and reducer .
one of my pickup trucks I have replaced all the A/C components and its doing fine , one more truck to go [;)]
wifes accord I replaced the IAC valve and knock sensor cleaned the throttle body did a tune up and its good to go .
one of our push mower's acting up so new carb and coil/ magneto I had for the repairs
I took it apart tonight to replace parts found the carb fuel tube cracked [B)] have one on order [:(]
still have a couple of a neighbors gas yard tools too complete
and then get back to working on the wifes " craft room "
then back to my normal project list ( the fun ones )0 -

Actually the motor is 605 cubic inches and 948 hp.0 -
There are about half a dozen projects going on in the house. New flooring, kitchen is done, now onto the dinning and front room. Bath is half tore out, need new sub-floor. Spent last weekend reframing the archway by the stair case. Took hours and hours to cut and fit the boards............It is 2&1/4 inches out of square in an area 44 inches by 33 inches. You cut each board so that when the fancy pine boards go in it don't look crooked. Now,'da wife can smear drywall mud and paint up a storm, not so good with wood. When see started in on how long it was taking, I took her out to my shop, gave her a piece of paper with a drawing and measurements on it and said, "My Darling, would you please be so kind as to show me how to make this corner board?" With me hanging over her shoulder for about an hour, showing her how and what this tool and that tool does, she had the corner board cut and did a pretty decent job at it too. She came away with a whole different attitude on how long it takes to make strange angle cuts and to plane a board down. She asked if I would show her more stuff. Be happy too. 0
