This "return" is going to be a nightmare for sure!
Every once in a while I get to deal with a character that is over the top INSANE and its just easier to tell them to send the gun back.
This guy wins an auction....his first communication with us was that he needed time to pay. Then he tried using a cc that was declined. Then he tried to use a pre-paid card that doesn't work with the cc system. He finally paid for the gun and it shipped out.
Shelby spoke with this guy every day, sometimes multiple times a day. You know you are dealing with someone that is in over their head if they make more than one phone call to complete or ask questions about a transaction.
He gets the gun and calls.....big surprise. He couldn't get it apart and has taken it to his gunsmith. He says that they found a problem and he thinks it is unsafe....another big surprise. He wants to know if I want him to "BEAT IT BACK TOGETHER" or just send it back taken apart.
I can't WAIT to see what I am getting back.
Oh.....this guy sent me a text pic of his return postage receipt.
Fun times people.....fun times.

The guy that won it has a bunch of "parts" auctions that he has won. So, this isn't a good thing. He likes to tinker....for sure.0 -
he wants you to give it to him FREE......or let him keeps the parts he wants and send you the rest ...postage due....mental midgets abound... and tell him you will put him on a national DO NOT SELL TO list if he returns it damaged ....he's probably STUPID enuff to believe it 0 -

Can you take down a Davis P-380? The procedure is the same as it is with a number of inexpensive zinc alloy autos. Push in on the takedown plug at the rear of the slide, then lift the slide off the frame.
I figured out how to take down the first such pistol I ever saw, so I didn't feel like it required a degree in rocket surgery to take one apart.
I know the Davis P-380 is a POS, but they generally work, with FMJ ammo, and I sold one to a GunBroker buyer, several years ago. I'll never forget the transaction. NEVER.
I shipped the gun out. I heard back from the buyer that he was having trouble with it, and wanted to return it, so I told him to go ahead.
When I got it back, the problem he had with the gun was obvious. He wanted to take it down, but had no clue how to do so. He had taken a screwdriver or similar took, and tried to PRY THE SLIDE OFF THE FRAME!!!
Of course, he broke the frame and the slide in the process.
Now, get this: He demanded a full refund, including shipping both ways. He was just a little disappointed I reckon. I figured all I had of the gun that was worth having was the magazine and the grips. So, I refunded him the wholesale value of the magazine and grips.
I never heard from him again, and that's OK.0 -
I've had so few of these guys....I don't worry too much about things being this crazy with my transactions, but when you do happen upon one of these moments it seems that you hit the moron jackpot. 0 -

Tore down my Par Wart Hog to put in s Skeletonized trigger instead of the plastic POS it had. It was the only gripe I had about it.
Well when a spring came out and I had no idea where it came from I bagged up all the parts and explained what I did. He cleaned it to before he gave it back cost more to have it cleaned than the fix.
But what ever I paid was worth it cause I did not tear it up with a bad fix.0 -
If he has hammered on it....any parts switched....or if I can't just pop it together and everything be fine he will be getting this puppy right back to his dealer and I'll be done with the whole thing.

Some people would take their brain out and play with them if they could and forget to put it back.0 -

Its back.....just opened the box. The guide rod is sticking out the front of the gun. I've got to get the guns I picked up today out of the car. I'll come back to this when my mind is ready for it. 0 -

Youtube is pretty helpful in putting back together stuff.
Its the one gun I would shoot Gangsta Style. There is not much holding the slide back from coming off when you fire it.0 -
It?s back together. Barry handled it in less than 5 minuets. The guide rod has a notch it goes in. There is a second notch that is there just for the barrel and if you put the guide rod in the wrong place it does NOT let things go where they need to. He made a little burr on the frame with his efforts, bit a tiny file took care of that without damaging it and it?s in fine shape again (thank goodness the guy didn?t hammer on it like he said he was planning to or it would be a whole different story.)

You really need to type in some "moron clause" in your ads [:D]. Like if you're too stupid to "properly" field strip and put the item back to function you cannot bid. Also if you cannot look it up on youtube don't bother bidding. 0 -
