Status update: in hospital

They took me to the emergency room in an ambulance last night

They admitted me early this morning

Can't keep down food or water or meds

Neuropathy in legs is so bad that I am unable to get around

In a lot of pain - dehydrated - overall miserable

I will try to check in if and when I am able

Sorry to have been absent - I'm in pretty bad shape

    we are keeping you in our thoughts and best wishes....a young neighbor farmer and friend who was elected as a state representative for this district had an xmas doctor visit to find he had stage 4 brain tumor/cancer...last i heard he has a month ...it is tough here too and i wish i could send you both a big prescription of FIXIT.....

    I certainly can relate. My daughter is going thru the cancer scenario right now. My best and being tough is a big part of beating this horrible ordeal, God Bless.

    Saline and glucose and electrolytes hung IV bags

    A mild antibiotic (broad spectrum)

    Had an MRI and a CT scan (chest abdomen and pelvis)

    Blood work - 6 red tops and one yellow top and one green top

    Urine analysis

    Ekg - heart monitor - blood pressure - pulse ox

    They have me mostly fasting in case some of the doctors want more tests or blood draws (I got some ice cream and some ginger ale)

    Hoping to get to eat tomorrow at some point

    No fever - no sign of infection or staph in the lab work

    I have some bruising and crush impact injuries from falling after blacking out

    They have administered some pain meds and and some antiverts and anti nausea meds

    I just took a Mexican shower and washed up and changed clothes

    They are talking about cyclical pain and some form of irritation to the gi tract

    They don't know what's wrong - they are investigating - I doubt much progress will be made on Sunday

    They think it's a bad cold or a strain of the flu that hit me...

    They don't think it's a staff infection or c-diff or a return of cancer...

    They put me on antibiotics just to be careful - scans show irritation and inflammation from the stomach to the gi tract but no other serious issues.

    How I can have a nasty cold or the flu and not have a fever is beyond my understanding

    They say it's nothing serious but they will not let me go home yet

    Honestly they say that with a comprised immune system I should be sick more often - but once I do become ill it hits like a freight train

    It has not been a horrible hospital stay - I have had worse - but I hate being here
