Surf Fishing NC Outer Banks

I have never been and want to go this year.What time of year and where should I go?

  I used to go every Thanksgiving and fish Buxton but the best fishing I ever had there was at Nags Head. I found a slew about thirty yards off the beach and for two days we caught all the red drum flounder and blue fish we wanted. Call the red drum tackle shop in buxton and talk to them. Good luck.

  October and November are statistically the best.
  
  Do you have a 4wd? Makes some places less difficult.
  
  Anywhere from Nags Head south to Ocracoke, or the Crystal Coast to Southport, NC.
  
  Don't do Cape Point as a newby!!!
  
  Be careful what you ask for; easily addicted???
  
  My next trip is Oct 6-15. Feet won't touch anything but sand, tent floor, and floorboards between those dates.

  I fish the OTB and like Ricci says Nags head is a great spot.
