ATI .45 Commander -
Someone posted not too long ago, that they had one.
Mine is a Jamomatic with 230 round ball. I did not pick up in your post, that was the case with yours.
Apparently I need to do some feed ramp work to mine. I've been hesitant to do anything to it. It appears to be very well made/machined. Reviews were/are good on it.
I also have a matching ATI .45 USGI (unfired,) due to the disappointment I experienced with my Commander. I should try and run a few rounds through it, in order to see if the same issue exists.
Yes, I've tried different mags, including a Wilson Combat mag.
If you read this and would post about your experience with yours, I'd appreciate it.

I borrowed an ATI GI to shoot in a 3 gun match(Old Iron match WW1 and before). I shot a Pump M97 Winchester and 1917 Enfield but I didn't have a GI 1911 with fixed sights or a fixed sight military revolver. A shooting buddy had the ATI GI and I used my reloads(230gr lead RN with RL5).
I brought 5 good magazines and my ammo to the match(I have never shot the gun). My buddy hands me the ATI and I am like this looks OK. Trigger was a little stiff. I broke it down and oiled it.
That thing never missed a beat. It shot a little high and right but not enough for me to get misses. At the end of the day I asked what he paid for it and told me $385 OTD..........
That was good one I would have liked to have it.
BTW I came in 4th out of 37 in the match[;)]0 -

Mine may be a fluke. I've spoken to others about this, and it seems to be an anomaly. I've yet to try rounds through my ATI USGI. I need to do so.
I also need to address the issues in my ATI Commander. I really want to like it.0 -
Have you talked to ATI. I have friends who work there and they even have a retail store about 5 miles from here. They are out of Rochester,N.Y. but have a factory in S.C. You should at least give them a chance to make it right. Unless the ramp is visibly bad that is the last thing I would mess with. 0 -

I tried calling them. My crappy reception cut us off. My ramp has a very visible step to it. I've not wanted to mess with it. I need to make another attempt to contact ATI. (And I will, prior to messing with it.)0 -
"Round Ball" is something used in a Muzzle Loader with a patch, a black powder pistol/revolver or references Basketball.
"Ball" ammunition is something completely different.
Perhaps you meant 'Hardball'.0 -

Here is what I would do:
1. Try it with factory hardball 230gr ammo.
if it balks
2. Polish fed ramp with flitz be careful and don't take too much off.
Still having problems
3. Put in a heavier recoil spring and try 4 different mags: Wilson, Tripp, Chip McCormik, Mecgar.

4. sell it..............or send it to Cylinder and Slide then it will cost as much as a Colt Series 70[:D]
YMMV but that advice is worth what you paid for it.[;)]0
