Sam06/DRC at it again
Sam, was just reading an article about an Ebola treatment center getting trashed in Beni, DRC, over militias and some election nonsense. Has that place ever really been at peace or is it this way all of the time and we just hear about it on slow news days?

It a fairly violent place.
Baby Kibilia the "president" is supposed to step down this year. If he does it will be the 1st time there has been a peaceful transfer of power in the country's history.
The major problems there are language, tribalism, child soldiers who cannot fit back into society and the Government screwing over everyone. I think it is the rape capitol of the world, like 1 in 4 women have been raped.
One other problem are all the UN troops that are there. They are raping women left and right. The Chinese have a huge presence in DRC they are striping it of everything that can lay their hands on.
I think the ebola outbreak is worse than reported even with the ebola vaccine.
Its been a while since I was there and all my contacts have gone off the air, I know a few were killed and one was in jail.
I doubt I will ever return and if I did it would take some serious coin for me to do so[;)]0 -

No way, that is/was insane.
Even the Dr's that contract it should be left there and treated there. IIRC they brought a female Dr back to Emory in Atlanta and treated her there for ebola. She was cured but has complications.
Ebola gets in you eyes and stays there. In Africa if you had Ebola and survive no one will get near you because they think(and rightly so) you still have it.0 -

This just illustrates what I said, why attack an ebola treatment center over the national elections?
What do they have in common?
Nothing, but these people know if they attack a Government office they will get shot. If they attack an ebola treatment center they will get publicity but they will also endanger everyone.
So those that are infected that fled will pass it on to others[V]0
