Although I love seeing all these companies making a 10mm pistol, I'm still waiting for one of them to do a nice single stack that holds 7 or 8 rounds.
I have been on Glock to do a copy of their G36(.45) in 10mm to no avail. I also wouldn't mind seeing Springfield chamber their XDs in 10mm.

I'm surprised the author of that linked article can't seem to figure out why the long slide version has the cutout in the top of the slide. They managed to add 3/4" to the barrel, as well as a set of adjustable sights and keep the weight the same as the service version,....31.2 ounces.
I think that might be why, although I agree with him about it collecting dirt there. I would be after the service version that is missing the cut-out so it matters not to me.0 -
I?ve been looking at full sized polymer 10mm?s. I like the metal mags, adjustable rear sight and grip safety on this one.

I like it. Imagine a .40 barrel conversion or a 9mm conversion to follow. I have a 9mm 6" barrel..lone wolf with spring conversion for my .40 xd tactical. The full support chamber is a must for hotter ammunition. 0 -

the G36 has problems with some of them falling apart after 5000-6000 rounds. the slide lug(s) break off.
I recall the early G20 10mm's had that problem and those are full size. they fixed that, but between these two issues it indicates that there is a limit to the amount of power a plastic gun can handle, with the G20 having just plain too much power and the G36 demonstrating that a slim frame must be weaker. the full size .45's never had that problem.
that could be one reason we have a G42 in .380 and a G43 in 9mm, which can handle that much power in a slim frame, but not a G44 in .40SW because it must be too much power for a slim frame, like .45 is too much power in the G36.
(the other reason being that Glock seems to have dropped .40 starting with Gen5 and would have discontinued development in mid-Gen4 when the G42 and G43 came out. they may have worked on it but abandoned it.)
if that is all true, they aren't going to make a slim frame 6-shot 10mm along the lines of G42, G43 and G36 because it's simply too much power.0 -

I think you might be right. I know that they could make it work in a single stack, but the question is if you can make it smaller enough, than the G29, to make it appealing. I had a G29 10mm and I wish I would have kept it. It was a very nice woods carry pistol.

Those are nice, but I have 2 issues with it. 1. The price [:D] 2. I'm looking for something smaller and lighter for woods carry.
That would be about the ultimate hunting 10mm though.
I'm going to get me a Ruger SR1911 some day. My biggest question is do I go .45 or 10mm? I'm thinking .45 first and than get the 10mm in the future. [:D]

yep. single stack is not a problem. it must be the frame that's a problem. otherwise the G43 is so wildly popular you would think they would make the same thing in .40 and 10mm. they would sell plenty good enough and the Glock lineup would be complete.
talk about a woods carry gun. how many shots do you need in the woods? a 10mm version of the G36 would be the cat's meow. hikers would love it.0 -

Nice looking and certainly a reasonable price tag on those. Most reviews I'm reading on them are good, with the small exception of some issues with mags falling out. I will have to look into if they have that corrected yet, or if it's something to look for if I buy one.
I may have found me a new toy to save up for.

I spent 8 months in Croatia in 2009-10. I was training their Para-Military Police and Soldiers in CQB so I got to shoot the heck out of a XD 9mm and a G36K. We were shooting 100's of rounds a day in the shoot house they had. I shot the XD fine but I prefer a Glock to it. I think its the grip. After about 2 months I saw a guy with a Glock and asked if they had them, They said yes. I was going to get them to issue me one but I figured they would rather me use their gun.
I had a great time in Croatia, I would say its a hidden gem for destination vacation. People were friendly, wine and beer was good as was the food. I got down to the coast a few times in the summer and it was really nice.0
