I went and ordered that trigger hammer and slide release. It will be here Thursday. I watched the youtube video on putting it in and it looks fairly easy. How long did it take you, start to finish????I am pretty good working on guns but this thing looks like it's a little hard to get in right. Did you use the shims and did they come with the package????. I read in the reviews that the shims come with it but in the title decription, it says you have to order them seperate. Thanks Oakie

    Ranger school graduation paddle individualized...

    Not uncommon - I wonder how difficult it would be to find the original owner...

    That is what they give to a Ranger Instructor when they leave the Florida Ranger Camp, Camp James E. Rudder.

    MG James Rudder Commanded the 2nd Ranger BN they were the unit that climbed Point Du Hoc(I spent 9 years there) the 2nd is at Ft Lewis Wa now.


    Camp Rudder is located inside Eglin AFB and is the "Jungle/Swamp" Phase of Ranger School. Ranger school has several phases. I don't know what they do now but When I went through Ranger School this was the last Phase before graduation. When I was an RI it shifted to 3rd or 4rh(last) due to aircraft availability,

    I have many Buddys who were RI's there. I was a Mountain Phase Instructor at Camp Merrill in Dahlonega Ga(91-94).

    I zoomed in and I see it was given to a 2nd LT. Not many of those around and not many are RI's. He may have been one but he should have been a 1st LT when he left. He was probably part of the OPFOR.

    A relative gave it to me. I'm not sure where they got it. I found an MI Captain in Weisbaden by that name, but I have had it for (maybe) ten years. I don't think it is the same guy.

    I will email him tomorrow at his .mil address. Can't hurt to ask.

    Yep in 10 years the guy should be a 0-4. I would think its older than that.

    If he is MI he could have been the S2 because they don't do much at the Ranger Camps but Check arms rooms. But he could have been a Branch Transfer Infantry guy who had to go MI when he made 0-3, that happens to a bunch of them because there is not much need for MI LT's

    Oh yea and tell him to drop and give ya 20 for losing it[:D] and don't forget the one for the Airborne Ranger in the sky.

    Sam....I found the guy.

    Funny thing is, he said he has his paddle hanging on his 'I Love Me' wall. He was looking at it as we spoke. He did mention there was a 'first' one but something was wrong with it. How it ended up here at Drum, I have no idea. He was a bit confused himself.

    I'm sending it to him anyway. Two is one, one is none, right.

    Evidently, I have only had it four or five years, so him being a CPT makes sense. He's stationed in friggin' Miami! I never got any assignments like that. 1st ID, 2nd ID, 24th ID, 10th Mtn.....but no Miami! [B)]

    I was never stationed any place like that either. Every place I was stationed was either too hot too cold too rainy too humid or just plain sucked.

    I did like it in Panama and WA state was nice.

    Most of my time was in Fayettenam, Home of the Airborne and Special Ops the center of the universe.............Ft Bragg NC[:D] The good thing was I was gone almost all the time it was my wife who had to endure it.
