Prayers and Good Wishes,....Update 9/1 Final
would be most appreciated right now. One of my Mother's best friends, that she has known for over 40 years has been diagnosed with melanoma that has spread into her head, as well as a lung. They are checking her lymph nodes this coming week, and have already planned a dual treatment protocol.
She has spent the last year battling issues with a-fib, and pneumonia, and was just starting to feel better. She had also just moved up to Orlando to live close to her youngest son, so he could help take care of her a bit.
I have known this woman since I was 15 years old, and while I know it doesn't look good, I am still praying for a miracle at this point.
This news came as quite a shock needless to say.[:(]
Update 8/22
Today she has been taken into the hospital for the third time. Her son had to start carrying her from room to room about a week ago, and she has been having brain bleeds, and seizures as well. My mother said her hair is all gone, and she is way down in weight. It appears the doctors were way off with their 6 to 9 month estimate,....it seems the end is near.
Please pray for a quick, painless passing, and comfort for her family as well as my mother. This is hitting her very hard.

My Mother's friend passed away about 8:30AM yesterday at the Hospice facility in Longwood she had just been taken to on Tuesday. She never really regained consciousness, which was probably a good thing in terms of her having suffered a lot. She leaves behind two sons not much younger than myself, three grandchildren, two sisters, and a lot of friends.
Be sure to protect your skin, and get checked at least yearly by a GOOD dermatologist. The really sad part about her death is the fact it most likely could have been avoided with the right preventative care. It's hard to get past her being gone due to a spot of skin cancer that was overlooked until it had rooted like a tree.[V]

Have them get in touch with Hospice right away. They can make a world of difference in the end. 3 of my parents (natural & step) made a much smoother transition at the end, than my father did while in the hospital.
I highly recommend them.0 -
