'At any cost': China warns US Navy ?
I wonder if Trump and Xi Jinping leader for life are going to solve this while they calm the world economic markets with so-called free trade agreements by March this year?
The whole South China Sea is claimed by Red China now! The world's governments would have to declare war on them to make it become free again and make the Communist government release their claims to it.

The Taiwan issue is an internal matter of China, concerns China's fundamental interests and the national feelings of the Chinese people, and no outside interference will be tolerated," Li Zuocheng said in a statement released by the Ministry of Defence.
"If anyone wants to separate Taiwan from China, the Chinese army will defend the unity of the motherland at any cost," he told the the US Navy chief.
In recent months, US Navy ships have repeatedly passed through the Taiwan Strait, which separates mainland China from the island.
Beijing views any ships passing through the straits as essentially a breach of its sovereignty -- while the US and many other nations view the route as international waters open to all.
A recent US law encouraging mutual visits between US and Taiwanese officials has also angered Beijing.

North Korea could attack South Korea with Red China troops if we start fighting with for Taiwan Independence also. Tactical nuclear war is possible over there in all theaters.

While I respect Sam06's experience and military knowledge I would not discount China's capacity to engage in war, hell they can send more troops than we have ammo.
Also I don't believe their technology is second rate considering that is where all the electronics are made.0 -
My late uncle was military intelligence his whole career. 15 years after he retired we were sitting around one nite deep into a bottle. I asked him about Russia and China and what kind of threat they posed. He instantly turned very serious, he said he couldn't say much as he could still go to Leavenworth. He did say though that if the public knew about 1/2 the stuff we had we'd all sleep peacefully. 0 -
China has tried to grow it's own food for a while but simply can't get it right. They tried raising their own pork but found they couldn't produce enough grain but they got a knot in their knickers and now can't even import enough soybeans. Now their pork production is endangered by African Swine Flu so they're right back where they started from--HUNGRY. 0 -

They don't have the capacity to Project Power. If they cannot walk to the fight they cannot get to the fight.
The last thing China wants is a fight with the US(Right Now). In 20 years maybe when they have built Power Projection platforms like Air Craft Carriers. But now all them have is one and its a POS. They have not learned fleet tactics, their eletronics are not as goo as ours.
Their equipment is really garbage. I have seen it up close and I am not impressed, Tanks, Guns, trucks.........ect
The other thing to remember is we would not be in the fight alone. We would have Taiwan and several other country's on our side. I doubt NK would get involved Kim would be too worried he might get his ass kicked, its better to act tough and not have to prove it.
The bottomline is China needs us more than we need them and DJT knows it, that and the fact that if China destroyed an Air Craft Carrier or did something crazy like that their Navy would be at the bottom of the sea and those armed islands they have built would be smoking wrecks.0
