We lost power for 2+ days and the Cable has been down since 1700 on Thursday.

Trees down and one road is still blocked by a tree and powerlines.

We got 5.2" of Rain we didn't really need and the biggest wind gust was about 45 mph.

Some folks down the road from did not get power back on for 3 days.



The good news is Mike brought some nice weather its been cool and sunny. I am going to aerate fertilize and seed my lawn today[;)]

    Glad it didn't put you out much.

    Kerosene and oil lamps are your friends.

    It never hurts to have a generator on hand large enough to run your reefers and a TV. You can always jackleg an OTA antenna.

    My generator can run my house. I built it from parts and it runs on Propane. It has its own 500 gal tank and I have another 500gal tank for the house that I can switch it too.

    The Generator part is from a 13.5kw Generac and the motor that runs it is a 25 hp Kholer. The thing is in my detached garage and its a monster.

    Its electric start but it had a pull cord back up to the battery. Wide open with a load it doesn't burn much Propane at all. The longest I have run it without shutting it down was 10 hrs and it did fine.

    I have to flip switches and turn off breakers because it doesn't have the auto start, that was $2000 more. My FIL and I put the panel in and did all the hook up on a weekend. The hardest thing was burying the wire.



    I believe if you are in a area that looses power often, and I am, you should have a generator and it should be able to power at least 1/2 your house. with mine you don't know the power is even out I can even run the AC.

    Yep, agree. Just ?exercised? mine this am. 22,500w surge, 15,000w continuous. Powers the whole house and a few cords the neighbors tend to show up with. Too wet to aerate today but I did get some fertilizer down before it started pouring again-damnit. Still have a few hundred lbs of pellletized lime to go down.

    The strangest thing....we had a week of rain leading up to Florence...then a week of drenching rain from Florence and nothing...Michael comes into town for half a day and we had the worst flooding we've had in 25 years....really odd.

    Same west of me. I think all the rivers and some creeks are full from Florence, then Mike comes along and pushes them over the top.
