Vikings were also Invaders and Illegal aliens on the British Isles. They ruled most of present day England parts of Scotland and Ireland.
The Vikings invaded and took the land from the Saxons who took it from the Celts who got it from the Britons and had just got some of it back from the Romans after they left.
Most of the Vikings came to England to settle and use the land. Some were raiders though. The raided all over The British Isles and even to the Med. as far as Persia the Black sea.
One other thing about them is they were Pagan and did not like Christians or the Christians trying to convert them(Which was eventually done leading to the downfall of the trade).
Britian was a much fought over place and the people who eventually be The English have a very bloody history, maybe thats why they were such good soldiers.0
