Winchester Power Max, anybody use this?

Since I no longer reload I had to finally break down and buy ammo for my .300WM. I spent a ton of $ on 7 or 8 different brands and types of ammo, on paper this was the absolute best I could find with 1? groups at 200 yards and easily breaks rocks at longer ranges.

I know sometimes fancy ammo doesn?t always perform well so I?m hoping this ammo works on large game as advertised.

    Just curious why did you stop Reloading?


    One thing I have found is Factory ammo is a thousand times better than it was in the 70's..........but its expensive[V]

    I have shot it in 7mmRM and 7mm-08 for Texas whitetail and it hasn't disappointed. YMMV.

    Lost most of my reloading gear in the divorce and I just don?t have the time or the drive to do it anymore. When I was reloading before I was shooting every weekend, long distance shooting and had shootin buddies. Anymore going shooting is a chore and I don?t do it much anymore. I?ll be honest, I miss the 1000 yard range near Lewistown, PA, had aot of fun ringing the gong with plain ol deer rifles and working that 6.5X.284 bench gun.

    FWIW that ammo has very good reviews.

    The bullet is a bonded HP with a flat base. For long range I always liked BT bullets but they don't do hold together as well as FB bullets.

    I think if its accurate its going to kill anything that walks or crawls in North America inside 500 yds as long as you put them where they do the most good.

    Sorry to hear about your reloading stuff. Something similar happened to a buddy. His EX did it out of spite. I went to her and offered to buy it from her but she had already taken it to a gun shop and sold it for $100(was about 3K worth of stuff)[V]
