Checking in & moving to FL

Hey guys- ive been away for a while just busy and focused on work & family.
Things have been crazy at work- long story short there was a desirable promotion up for grabs and I had to compete against most of my friends and a handful of others.

I won.

The job is in Orlando- which will be one of the real hard parts. There is some upside. I was stationed in Florida when in the Navy, so Im looking forward to Florida but ive never spent time in Orlando so that will be new. They have a pretty good shooting scene down there from what I can gather.

So im Orlando bound by the end of the year. Anyone want to buy my house in Dallas?

Havent been shooting much but getting after it when I can.

    Let me know when you get settled in here we could meet at one of the ranges here. One hint look for a place where you don't have to use I-4 to commute

    I went to boot camp in Orlando and that's all I saw of Florida.

    Orlando proper is a pretty good city, but some areas of it can be real sketchy .
    Orange County which encompasses Orlando has some very nice areas but is run by hard core Democrats, and can be a little more costly then some other close by counties.
    I live in Lake county only 7 miles from Disney, most of southern Lake county is much more reasonable for taxes, home prices, good schools, plenty of shopping, and has very easy access to several roads for fast travel to Orlando.
    We are a gun friendly state, plenty of places to shoot at indoor ranges and a few outdoor.
    I belong to The Eustis gun club, a good place , that that also hosts IDPA and cowboy shoots.
    We have "private" club member 20 meter berms for handgun, and other ranges for shotgunners, along with 25/50/75/100/ and 200 meter ranges.

    y not be as bad as the Love Bugs But "Alfalfa or Orange Sulfur Butterfly, Colias eurytheme" In California will kill a car. We were surrounded by Alfalfa growing up. If you went for a drive at night you watched your temp gauge. Them things would plug a radiator fast.

    Ill definitely try to link up and say hello once the dust settles.

    So far it looks like houses cost about 20% more than DFW.
    Everyone is convinced the drivers are bad.

    Im excited but I will sure miss Texas

    Give me a holler when you get to Florida and we will meet up. I live in Sumter county that is just west of lake county. I drive to Orlando every day to work at Disney but you couldn?t pay me enough to live down there. Sumter county is mostly rural so it?s very economical to live in. I have lake front property that in Orlando would be 750,000 or up but in Sumter county it is 200,000. Before you buy talk to one of us locals and we can stear you in the right direction.

    Well, welcome to paradise, coming from Dallas you will barely notice any difference, same heat, same humidity, same traffic, maybe just a tiny bit fewer murders.
