What a waste of money
I support the game laws in the manner they were intended, and especially those that are meant to enforce poaching, but while this was remarkable, it was an obvious accident and no poaching was involved or intended, so the money spent to track down these "criminals" could have been better spent on education.

The Army is just puking all the money away on crap.
First it started with a new camo pattern and sticks out like a sore thumb then they had to change that to multicam.
Then it was a dress uniform, get rid of the greens and make everyone wear blues.
Then its a new Handgun, 93% of the people who carry a handgun will never use it and the ones who do use a handgun don't use what the rest of the Army uses anyway. Waste of money!
Now they have ANOTHER new dress/every day??? Uniform.

I wore at least four different uniforms during my 25 years in the Army.
My personal opinion is that the constant uniform changes keeps the economy moving - and is more socially acceptable than weapons of war.
I am not real sure why they don't "keep the economy moving" by increasing the pay. [:(!]0 -

Any sniper worth his salt makes his own. I still have mine and it stinks so bad I leave it in the garage[;)] Plus the fact that for it to be effective you have to have natural foliage from the area you are in added to it. I remember one of the biggest "tells" when stalking was the black bottom of a jungle boot.
US Militrayguy I was in for 25 also(81-06). I thought the last iteration of the BDU was a good uniform as were the Desert BDU. Both worked well in the environment they were made to operate in, They were comfortable and easy to care for. That said I liked the OG-107 the best. They worked just about everywhere.0 -
74-94 seems like the Marines was on a constant uniform change.
Started with I was issued Khakis in boot camp When I got to my 1st duty station I was told to throw them away.
Went from sateens to many different type of Camo.
At least our dress uniforms sort of stayed the same. Blues never did. But the Greens they phased out the wool uniform and went to all Polyester.
Not sure of how much it cost me but they only paid a small part of it.0 -
Has something changed? I thought Army soldiers had to buy their own uniforms. I know when my SIL was in the 82nd Airborne I know he had to buy uniforms. Maybe he got a little allowance but I remember him saying he had to replace them. 0 -
I heard the Navy is getting rid of the ridiculous blue camouflage. I hope that rumor is true. 0 -

When they change over like that they add in a small amount but it only covers a little of what it costs. There is also(or was) a Monthly clothing allowance but that too was not very much.
So most of these changes are paid for by the Individual who wears them.
Seems it went up some since I was in. The maintenance part is yearly.

I was '73-94. Yep, went thru a few changes. Khakis and wool out, poly in. Sateen out, several iterations of green camo. Even the boots!
I liked the early cammies (jungles) better than the sateen and the later cammies.
I've got to ASSume that most (I know, I know...) of the changes were driven by requirements and technical advancements, but I'm sure that some on the uniform board got screwed n blewed into approving some changes too.
But the new army greens? I think they look cool. A nostalgia thing. My father wore that type (and I miss the hell outa him) so I'm a bit biased.0 -

Since you brought it up, does the military issue strollers and baby uniforms?
I had dress tan, dress blue and OD fatigues. I think we were the last to get the tan dress uniforms. 76-800 -
Would it be in fashion to issue for the temps your in...
My pops complaint was getting reg issue for Alaska duty in the Aluetion Islands and being cold.0
