    Al Gore was semi-right. The polar cap is still where it's always been but a part of it has moved south to VA. [:D]

    SW, we got 11? back in December over most of Virginia. They called it Winter Storm (insert name).
    It wasn?t even winter, yet.

    Seems like every cloud gets a name now.

    I would like to know what was the reason to start naming stoms other than Hurricanes.

    The only thing I can think of is that the Weather Channel must make some money for naming the storms.

    Got almost 20" in December herein Cripple Creek SW VA but only 1-3" forecast for this one so can handle that a lot better!

    Not sure it will be biggest, last snow dumped 13-15" nearby. Weather here is predicting 3-6", just have a dusting so far.

    I'm pretty sure that IDIOTS "Carbon footprint," with his large houses, Jet, etc. Is probably around 20-30 times (if not more,) my frugal use.

    He was only born in Tennessee. He grew up in the DC area. Spent his whole life there except for summer vacations so don't blame that SPOS on Tennessee.

    This storm has dumped about 3" of sleet...it's quite icy, very dry mix.

    well winter officially started for me about 5"-6" of snow
    but the seasons starts with thew first of several times a winter the snow plow takes out my mail box [V]
    Saturday ( yesterday ) marks the 1st of the season [:(!][:(!] son crrried it in .
    ratchet straps are my go to repair mail box tool each winter today will hammer it back to mostly a mail box shape and put it back up [:D]

    I am really glad we do not have the 40 - 50 + mph winds like we did a few days ago 30 degrees and calm

    Being a weather-person is the only job where you can be wrong 1/2 the time & still be employed. 3"-7" ended up 1/2" plus a layer of freezing rain on top. Power didn't go out (yet) & one day of sun will clear it all up.

    Rest of us are governed by certain rules of decency.

    Snow fall in Va is more interesting then rain. Looks like fun for skiiers.
