Narcan

Should the police be carrying it and should they be able to administer it.

Me I say no. They are not trained in medical.

    Always read & go by the manufacturer's expiration date on any prescription drug. Some states require the pharmacist to label every drug with an expiration date no more than 1 year from the dispense date. (It's good for business. Guess who the members of your state pharmacy board are?)

    My wife says I have no compassion about this. I probably don't.

    My take is, if you're willing to play the game, you have to accept the risks that go with it. It's not like the risks of drug use are unknown going in.

    So, no. I don't think they should bother themselves with it.

    No, this is the job for paramedics, leave the police out of it.
    And if a few more junkies die so much the better.

    they should also be allowed to put a plastic bag and zip tie over the head of the dumbass who passed out and taking drugs just to get high ( of course free of any prosecution or lawsuits )

    Prince did his last concert in Atlanta. Was flying back to the Purple Palace in Minnesota on the private Lear Jet, he OD'd over Iowa.
    The pilot did a corkscrew landing to a field in Iowa, he had radioed in and the EMS met the plane on the tarmac. I think the pilot "had a good guess" as to why Prince was unconscious/dead.

    EMS administered Narcan and they saved Prince! Took him to the hospital in the ambulance of course. Docs wanted to keep him in the hospital for a day or two. Once Prince came to, after several minutes in the hospital he walked/staggered out AMA. Against Medical Advice.

    And, two days later Prince was spotted in his limo outside a drug store in Minneapolis, story is his buddy was in there to fill a bogus Prince scrip for Percocet.

    And, five days later after the incident in Iowa, Prince successfully overdosed on his Percocet in his private mansion.

    This junkie didn't care how many people he hurt, didn't care about the pilots risking their lives to corkscrew down to the airport, didn't care about medics risking life and limb to drive across town lights and sirens to the airport, the ambulance could have crashed into a car and several civilians died, he didn't care, didn't care how many fans he disappointed, he was a junkie. He was going to have his dope no matter what.

    I have been dealing with junkies since 1970 and I am sick of them, up to my eyeballs with junkies. They are on a suicide trip and don't care who else they hurt.

    I say, let them complete their suicide trip and die.

    Nope. Especially for the known druggies, like the ones that have gotten narcan multiple times already. Not too far from me a woman OD'd 3 times in one day, each time given narcan. Ridiculous.
