Ithica model 37 guys....

My first shot gun was a model 37 plain barrel 12 gauge that I got for 35 bucks. Ran across this one on the auction side and never realized that they even made some this nice..[:0]

    I have owned several and liked them in the past but had to sell due to life [:D]
    but like you I did not know they made a higher grade and that one is a nice looking shotgun ( but then about all company's offer a up grade version so I guess I just never thought about a model 37 )

    I;m not sure it's $2100.00 pretty, but it's pretty!
    I love a skeleton grip cap!
    The slick smooth action on a Model 37 is a treat to work!

    Beautiful Ithaca [;)]. Check to see if it still has the Ithaca proof mark stamped on the receiver (small hammer and anvil). A friend of mine back in the 60's and 70's would send them and Browning A-5's to Japan for a complete make-over and they would came back absolutely beautiful leaving one speechless......if it's a true Ithaca get documentation of their work if possible. Either way "pricey" but in opinion worth it [:)]

    my friend bought a '37 deerslayer model right before slug season one year in Illinois. went to sight it in, pumped a slug up from the magazine. the action was so smooth it fired it right away upon closing....same thing happened 4 more times....back to gun store for an 870 remington.[:(!]

    Six decades ago, I had a delightful 20-ga 37 with a Poly-Choke. Then I started trap shooting, and it went away in favor of an 870 12er. The 37 was the slickest-working pump shotgun ever.

    My second shot gun growing up was a 37 in 16ga and it was great and my dad traded it for a Rem 1100 while I was in the service.

    Thought so much of it I bought one a few years back for the memories

    I've owned several, have 2 right now. Love them, but you can't dress one up enough to add up to $2100

    I am a big fan of the model 37 and Browning BPS. Best pump guns in my opinion.

    Would love to own the one in the auction.

    37's were made in standard, Deluxe and Supreme grades as well as some parkerized and plated ones. I have a 12ga. Supreme with really nice wood, Gold plated trigger & slide release and a grip cap with a buck on it. I can't figure out how to post pictures here, not real computer savvy.

    37 actions were like butter. Also a light carry shotgun.
