Bacon Fried Rice
All this Fu Manchu talk got me thinking on what I can cook up with what I gots. Got bacon, green onions, garlic, I might have a yellow onion and I just got eggs. Just need to find "Big Trouble In Little China".

For good fried rice you need to cook the rice the day before and let it cool.
For me its not fried rice with out eggs.0 -
Kim chi???

Pork fried stray cat???

Crispy fried duck (or squirrel or possum)???

If you do a bloomin onion style preparation of the yellow onion (crispy fried - breaded)
If you mix up some green onions (finely diced or thinly sliced on a diagonal) with crispy bacon (umm bacon fat) and scrambled eggs in a skillet with a dash of garlic and pepper and salt - perhaps served over top of the crispy fried and breaded bloomin onion sections...
You just might have something.

grumpygy - It's true a day old is best but if you cut back on the water (depending on the amount of rice) or take the rice out of the cooker right after it hits the warm function and let it steam off. It'll dry out but the most important thing about fried rice is frying.
It's also true about the eggs. Got to have it and careful not to make the fried rice it in to an omelet.
mrmike08075 - I'm picturing you pulling on your eyes to make them slanty as you type this list of Asiany things [:D].
As for the list of things yeah I'd try them if someone cooks them right. Or have enough PBR or Oly to wash them down.
Almost forgot how pretty Suzee Pai was. Even Kim Catrall didn't look bad. And those Chinese gangs at the airport looking even more ethnic, hilarious. They really did let anyone in to the airport back then.0 -
Yosh - I only mess with friends and peers - and am only kidding
Heck I am Irish and Scottish with some German and Dutch thrown in
An Irish seven course meal is a sixer of Guinness and a potato
And we can skip the haggis or eel pie
[:)][:D][}:)]
But seriously consider the recipe suggestion I made above - while a bit of effort and clean up will be required I think you will yield some good eats
It's what I would make for the girls if I had those ingredients lying about
BTW you can take a joke and you hit back well IMHO

When I was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan, fried rice was scrambled with bits of baco, and contained the same ingredients you mention, plus chopped onion. 0 -
Skip the rice and veggies. Then you'd have a perfect meal.... bacon with a side of bacon with bacon as desert....[:D] 0 -

As I noted in another post a while back, I would prefer to pinch Mary Ann, before pinching Ginger!
Yosh, you have everything you need but you gotta call it "Fly'd Lice" to be orientally correct![:D]0 -
mrmike08075 - I don't take noneyas seriously here just breaking balls [:D]. You don't need to keep explaining.
Guinness comes in 4s and 8s in cans. Bottles aren't as entertaining without the self contained beer pong ball. The current ones are more rounder. One of these days I'll have enough to string it into Mardi Gras beads.
Blooming Onion would be better with fried oysters. Like hushpuppies without 90% of the corn meal. If I were to fry up and make a mess I'll think about the blooming onion.
Oh yeah I got jokes [:D]. I'm a equal offender.
kimi - Japo (pointing both thumbs at self).
remingtonoaks - Only reason to use the rice is to soak up all that bacon gravy. Otherwise what's the point? Clutching my heart doing the Red Fox "I'm coming Elizabeth" [:D].0 -
Bacon is what pigs give you when you are nice to them 0
