Not sure why you bring up Janet Reno, as she wasn?t AG until the Clinton administration took over in 1993. Ruby Ridge was under GHW Bush?s watch.
I drove up to Ruby Ridge last year to observe the 25th anniversary. A friend asked me why.
I told him because I feel guilty for what I did 25 years ago.

I said ?Nothing?.
Too many of us did nothing.

Yep, Janet Reno, Waco era. Even Bill Clinton said she was his biggest mistake. I would argue that Hillary was Bill's biggest mistake.
I read the transcript years ago and Jerry Spence forced Lon to admit on the stand, he just wanted Randy dead. Not about rules of engagement. I worked for USMA grads for 41 years and Lon was a stain on DUTY,HONOR,COUNTRY.
Randy lost his dog also.
Millions paid out and goverment never admitted any wrong doing.

I believe you are correct.
I bought into the dangerous person crap 26 years ago and never lost a moment of sleep during the murders of Sammy and Vicki Weaver. I met Vicki Weaver at a gun show some years back, and broke down when I apologized for doing nothing.
It started out as a little good natured entrapment, and ended up with the justifiable killing of a US Marshall and the murder of two good people by a vengeful and power-mad Federal Government with the inexcusable complicity of local law enforcement and the press.0 -

I did and said nothing as well. I was a college student, living on the wet side, was duped by the media, and figured I had other priorities that took precedent. Won't make that mistake again.0 -
