    45 would not have reached that far. 9mm travels much faster and has less drop.

    Also, he didn't hit the balloon, but still damn impressive.

    Elmer and Skeeter used to shoot Prairie dogs at a mile IIRC with their 45 Colt SAAs. (I forget which book by one of those two it's mentioned in)

    First off, he didn't hit the balloon, he hit steel & the splatter popped the balloon. It's still a very impressive shot & I'm sure I couldn't do it.

    Ok, I misspoke, a 45acp can reach the target, but it has 100 ft drop more than the 9mm at 1000 yards, making it much more difficult than using a 9mm, which is pretty damn hard to begin with.

    And to think I was impressed when my buddy killed a coyote at around 100 yards with a Ruger p-95 9mm.He did confess it was a lucky shot.
