Anyone into old trucks
I just got a 1952 Chevy 6400, title in hand. It was last ran in 2000 and driven into a barn. It was pulled out last year and I?ve been talking to the owner since. Well yesterday he came by and handed me the title. Anyone recommend a rat rod or old school truck forum?

as for me lack of money and project time kills such projects [:(]but I like them .
a on going trend is to put the cab on a newer truck frame with all the bells and whistles or as you say rat rod ( I really do not get the rat rod I do like some but other that less refined and do your own thing than a traditional hot rod )0 -

My Old 74 Has a 350 4 bolt main and a built turbo 350 trans. Have not run the truck in years but am going to pull the engine and put it into something like that.
Only change I will make to the old engine beside freshening up the seal will be a new Edelbrock Fuel injection system. That old girl should scream.0 -
Cool old project truck.
As was suggested, a modern frame and Cummins would be fitting for that one.
Up until fall of last year I had a '63 Gladiator. Pains me to say it, but circumstances forced me to sell him.0 -
A free truck, your way ahead of the game so ...splurge a little on it [:)]. It doesn't look like you'll have to buy headlights (they look new) unless you convert to 12v. 0 -

i have an old 1951 ?? GMC farm truck...clear title, no rust, and it would idle a 240 bushel load up to dump...been setting in a closed shed for 20+ years with a bed load of odds and ends....no one around here will fix any truck tire with the safety ring anymore ....battery and clean the fuel system (6volt pump)and probably need to go thru the brake system and it would run safely OK...need to have it go away so i could use the room 0 -
Rich people drive old vec's because they like to. I drive old vec's because I have to.
AND I can keep my old vec's operating.
My huntin vec's, 1980 4x4 GMC K15, all OEM, 79,000 actual miles, has overdrive, 350 4 bolt main
1977 International Scout II, 4x4, 70,000, 304 with A/C
other 1971 Ford F100 4 speed, 360 engine,
1975 Ford, 150 camper special, 390 engine
Not easy to find salvage yard parts since they started grinding old vec's.[:(]0 -

Cool old truck. I have owned one of those, and driven many. It should have a 235 engine, 4 speed trans, and a vacuum 2 speed. If you pull the engine down too far by climbing a hill in too high of gear, you'll lose all your vacuum, and the 2 speed drive axle will shift into neutral.[:0][:0][B)] 0 -
