Big legal question here
A close friend of mine's 60 year old father is currently locked up on a driving under the influence of drugs charge. I was really surprised, since I knew he is an alcoholic, but I didn't know anything about him taking any drugs. And sorry, but I have no idea what kind of drugs are involved. When I went down to the county jail today to get more information about what he is charged with and to arrange visitation for his family, I found out he also has four outstanding warrants (most likely driving related), and that his bond is $250,000, in full. No 10% down, not that I had any plans on bailing him out for even $20. Oh, and Immigration wants to talk with him, since he's in this country illegally. He got deported back to Mexico a few years ago after his third DUI, but he crossed the Rio Grande into Texas after about five months living with his relatives in Mexico.
Anyways, what I want to know is, what is the likelihood of him getting deported again without serving any jail time here? I'm hoping that's what he'll be offered, and it would be best for both his family and the taxpayers if he just got sent back and was told don't return. Anyone here have any first or second hand experience with something like this?

Sorry for your friend's family stress but this guy is the poster boy for what is wrong with our immigration system. Hopefully he will get deported and find it more difficult to return. He has and is , already bleeding our system through law enforcement and legal expenses to the tax payer. Money would probably be better spent incarcerating him where he won't kill a good citizen with a vehicle. 0 -

Exactly, why not? Would you much rather see a family killed by this piece of turd???????? Because that's actually that's what's going to happen. I say throw him im jail and weld the door shut, and if you're worried about the taxpayers having to pay for his food, let him eat his own crap... Because that's all he deserves...

His arraignment is Wednesday, Aug. 22nd, some time in the morning. I'll have a better idea of what's going on after his court appearance. My biggest concern is for his five grandchildren. How do you explain to them (ages 7 to 15) that they might not ever see their grandfather again? I'm not excusing anything that he did; my number one concern is for his family. I wish he would have stayed in Mexico the last time he was deported, but during the Obama regime, it was almost as easy to enter Texas from Mexico as it is from Arkansas. His family knew he was here. His history tells us they knew he was a hazard on the roads. Too bad for the 7 year old, I guess.
Explain that grandpa was a dirtbag who broke multiple laws and never should have been here in the first place.
Mom and dad should tell them that if they see his sorry ass in the US of A ever again, they should notify the authorities.
Unless, of course, they don't give a crap about this country and its inhabitants.

Explain to the mother why she will never see her child again after he kills them in a drunken stooper. The living kids will be fine, and they need to be told that grandpa continued to break the law and risk others lives, so they locked him up. The children need to see this side of reality too.0 -
