New 43x holds 10rds of 9mm.
New 48 holds 10rds of 9mm.
I guess ill have to see the 48 as i cant make it make sense in my mind, it sounds like a 10 round Glock 19.

A single stack 19 might be interesting. I have two 19?s now but I will need to check out the new one. Not sure I want to give up a third of magazine capacity. 0 -

There has been customer requests for a single stack version of the 19 for along time...not sure why all of the sudden they are releasing the glut of 9mms that they are, but the market will bear out whether it is a good idea of not. The 48 appears to be a 19 length slide version of the 43X. The 43X appears to be designed to compete with the Sig 365 due to the 10 rd capacity. I have a regular 43 and see no reason to move to a 43X or 48. I have Taran tactical extensions that make it a 43X. I've seen alot of criticism of Glock over the 19X, and now 45. However Glock sold over 100,000 of the 19X in it's first six months on the market, so obviously there is a fan base for these pistols.
I wish they'd focus on releasing a Gen 5 Glock 20/21 platform, but it would seem the handgun world is focused soley on the perfect 9mm carry pistol these days.[V]0 -
I like Glocks but I hate forward cocking serrations.
Those are ok but I will stick to the 19 size gun for the additional ammo and they fell good in my hand.0 -

How does one improve on "perfection?"
The firearm industry has a lot in common with the automobile industry. They keep bringing out "new" models, with different features, colors, etc. than the "old" models. The changes in the new model make it different, but not necessarily better.
"You don't want that old black gun! Here, buy this new FDE gun!"
"That old .30-06 won't kill a deer anymore! You need this new 6.5 Webley-Vickers!"

At the time the 43 came to market it competed with the 938 which had a 6 round mag capacity, then the 365 came out with a 10 round capacity and Glock owners wanted to a 10 round option in a single stack that was thinner than the 26, so Glock obliged. It's simply good customer service and marketing to respond to the desires of your customers. You are taking this perfection marketing gimmick a little to literally...Glock does produce a fantastic product and dominates the handgun market with sales.0 -

I have never owned a Glock,,too be honest ,,I have never fired a Glock,,just never had the desire,,A few months back I built an AR-15 style rifle that fires 9mm and takes Glock magazines so I can just about bet my next new handgun will be a gen5 Glock 17 0 -

I tell you what Remington Oaks- bring any 1911 you own, with any target scenario or combination of time, distance, group, etc- doesnt matter up against my old gen 3 Glock.
And if you outshoot me- I?ll buy you a 1911 and give it away on the forums here.

I Purchased a G43 about 2 months ago as I was looking for a single stack 9mm that was easily concealed. I have a Les Bear Black Baer which is their commander size 1911 in 9mm. I love it but it weighs and cost 3 times what the G43 does. My attitude is that there is plenty of room in the safe for both Glocks and quality 1911 pistols.
Although I have been happy with the G43, I would definitely have purchased the G43X if it would have been available when I purchased the G43. Looking at the specs, the slide is the same size with the grip being about an inch longer to accommodate the additional rounds. I expect the G43X to be as concealable as the G43. Looks to me like Glock was just updating their model selection to meet customer requirements and expect the G43X will outsell the G43 going forward.0 -
The Kel-Tec P-40 9 + 1 is the lightest .40 cal semi auto. Mine has never had a failure to feed or eject. To bad little wimpy limp wristed men that couldn't handle the recoil caused the company to quit making them. 0 -

I agree... Glock has been behind the power curve in pistols now for over ten years... But there guns are not getting any better in quality, but seem to get a higher price tag.
It looks like they are trying to compete with Sig and kahr which have been making the most reliable micro 9s for the past decade or so.

I've got a Kel-Tec P11. (11 shot 9mm.) It is a sweet little carry gun.
I've also got a Kahr .45. It functions without issues, unlike my 1911's.0
