Tattoo ideas

One of my bucket list items, is getting a tattoo. It will most likely be something on my upper arm and related to a favorite hobby of mine. I have had tons of ideas run through my head and looked at tons of designs, only to not be able to make up my mind.

Are any of you guys good a drawing or using computer drawing programs? If so, maybe you could give me some ideas?

My hobbies are guns(Ruger is the brand I have the most of, Glock is a favorite of mine, and the wife and I have matching S&W SD9's), my dogs(2 Lab mixes and the only 2 I've had so far since being "on my own."), hiking/snowshoeing in the winter, my Jeeps, and watching my Chicago Bears and Milwaukee Brewers. I like skulls I guess....always liked the Punisher, Ghost Rider, and Mr Grimm(old Twisted Metal video game character). Bears, Tigers, or Lions are probably my favorite animals...besides dogs.

Anyways, I have some time to pick one out. The past couple of years I've taken part of my summer bonus and paid for the wife to get a new tattoo. She currently has 4 and I told her I might get one with her this year.

What ink do you guys have?

    My mom's 50th Birthday is coming up, she has a couple tattoos (pretty discreet, not trashy) that she got while on vacation and one she got with my brother a couple years ago.

    I mentioned getting ink'd myself a few times before and she said something about going to get tattoos on her Bday with her.

    I'm contemplating what I want. It obviously needs to be in a place that won't affect the outward professional appearance (back, upper arm, leg) and I want something to do with my daughter with a short latin or Italian phrase.

    Any ideas?

    none ...but if i was going to get one i may get a small detailed fantasy...like a dragon...something that wont go out of style in your way of life

    There was a post of the 2nd Amendment in the shape of an AR/15, M16 that I really liked. (Should have copied it.)

    Other than that, it would have to be my Family crest, which goes WAY back.

    Also have Taz as a Marine with Smoking M16, Bob Cat, Lynx and two Lions. Have a thing for big cats and its not hunting. Got to see Leo the Cross Eyed lion. And a Naked lady rising out of skulls on my right Bicep.

    What you and your wife should do is get one that matches that reflects your hobbies / likes that you enjoy doing together. My departed wife and I were going to get matching water skiing tattoos before she passed away, ...

    Turkey hunted with a guy (had many tattoos) who said if his wife ever died before he did he'd have her skinned and he had close to $20,000 in her paint job[:0]. I met her a few times and the tat's were so intricate it was really a work of art & I believe covered all but her hands, neck and head[:0]

    My second tattoo was done as a tribute to Grandpa and his AAA outfit in the Pacific during WW2. Definitely more to come when time and funds allow.

    Whenever I talk about getting a tattoo, my wife replies with the following. She is a nurse and has seen a number of mature folks with older tattoos. They look great when you are young but not so much as you get older.

    a co-worker gal many years back ( in her 40's at the time ) came into work in the office told a group of us ( close friends )
    she just got a tat of a mouse as a spur of the moment idea over the weekend on her tummy ..

    I kinda figure that God made me the way he wanted me. Any changes in my appearance He'll add in the form of age spots, scars, etc.

    one guy(after a few beers) told me the had a tattoo on his schlong... said SHORTY'S...most time..a few other happy times it was Shorty's Bar and Grille Chattanooga, Tennessee.......he was disappointed they ran out of room for the zip code ???

    A guy in high school got one on the out side of his calf. It was a rooster with a hangman's noose around it's neck. Written underneath was My Cock Hangs Below My Knee. All funny as hell then, but wondered how he did at the beach with the kids.

    If you have to ask other people for ideas on a tattoo, you probably shouldn't get one.
    They should mean something to the person getting it.
