    I like big butts bores and I cannot lie.
    I have a Super Redhawk and Ruger #1 in .480 Ruger. Fun to reload for.

    Who would ever guessed it by my GB name but yes, I like bigbore guns. I have a 505 gibbs, 458 H&H, 45/110 Sharps that I shoot in bp, 500 S&W revolver, 44 mag in S&W and 45/70 in a TC Contender pistol. I had a 375 H&H but sold it years ago.

    I loved the 375H&H barrel for the Encore. I wish I still had it but it got sold in a moment of weakness. The go to rifle here in Ohio is the 45-70 or the 450 Bushmaster. I like them both.

    have a navy arms martini target in 444 marlin ..NIB..to heavy for me now at 11#....on the lite end is a ruger #3 in 444 marlin ...

    I would love to have a fine old English double in 500 nitro [:D] or similar but lack of $$ [:(] I can only think of having one

    Good choice. Look at magazine length a 250 grain bullet is long.
    a rifle intended for 30-06 is better than a 8x57 rifle.

    Just last week I got curious about the 405 Win round and googled it up. Where I ended up was reading up on a somewhat obscure round known as the 400 Whelan. Pretty much a straight wall '06 case with just a whisper of a shoulder. Thought of by some to be a 405 for a bolt action. It looked interesting but there seemed to be some turmoil with headspacing and chamber cutting.

    All jokes aside, my fun seems to start a .35 caliber too. One rifle I dearly regret ever selling was a .358 Norma, built on a 1917 Enfield action, with a 28" barrel. Closer to 12 lbs than 10, but was actually pleasant to shoot, and was quite a stomper. The older Norma factory ammo that came with it clocked right at 3000fps with their 250gr bullet. Fear no evil with that one.[^]

    The other was my Whitworth .375 H&H, below. To say that one was accurate was an understatement. What surprised me was how well it would drop in 3 220gr Hornadys at 100 yards, and that was with an older 1.5-6x Burris.

    on my list of things to look for when I go to Tulsa in April is Win 1885 chambered in 405 win

    While I haven't had an opportunity to hunt with it yet, I do enjoy shooting the .375 H&H.
