Yep, they quoted Justice Antonin Scalia ruling as case law and what it means that carrying firearms can be curtailed by local governments i.e. your right to carry in the public. Conservative judges have the will to curb your rights believe it or not! Wake up!

Basically, the First Circuit said that the right to use firearms to defend your home is stronger than the right to carry a gun in public. The Court noted that there is no national consensus, rooted in history (the relevant date appearing to be 1868, upon the ratification of the 14th Amendment, since this is a state law), concerning the right to public carriage of firearms. While data from the south suggests one view, other regions were more restrictive, citing a Massachusetts good cause statute from 1836. But assuming there was a Second Amendment right generally to carry guns in public, the core of the constitutional right focused on the home, with a diminished interest beyond that. Applying intermediate scrutiny, the statute and implementation passed muster. Massachusetts had a compelling interest in public safety and crime prevention, and the ?good reason? test in its statute was substantially related to those interests.

It's the northern persuasive think tank link step mindset. America needed firearms to settle their authority from one shining sea to another but now the blue blood's up there with California,they don't need or want public citizens guns on the streets anymore. The country is too diverse and divided to be able to regulate their safe use interpretation of gun rights on the streets anymore.
Once the local governments get permission to regulate firearm possession in all public areas than only police will have the right to defend themselves in the public domain. They have new demographics to pull it off too! Bet on it!

Wyatt Earp-the Movie portrays strict firearms laws in Dodge City and Tombstone while he was Marshal. I have no idea if that was accurate or not, but would be interesting if it is accurate.0 -

The train is the Supreme Court ruling the absolute right to carry a firearm on your body can be delegated to a lower form of authority of government to regulate.
No 50 state reciprocity for carry license for a pistol. It's a dead proposition. The NRA was asking for money to lobby Congress to approve it the other day on the phone but it ain't going to happen until hell freezes over in my opinion.
Then AR-15's type of weapons will be the next thing they will let be outlawed by other jurisdictions in order to preserve their authority over you.
Just watch and see.

Heck with the movies in real life when I was in HS kids had shotguns and rifles out in the trucks for hunting seasons.

Oh, I bet you're not familiar with the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act, known as H.R. 218. Congress passed it in 2004, coincidentally the year before I retired. There are lots of us here where this applies, active and retired, nationwide carry, all 50 states. You just have to meet the criteria. [;)]
What about the District of Columbia? Can all cops carry there too?
