    speedtest.net is a cox website, and is HUGELY biased towards cox users. Basically, they are known to lie about cox's speed.

    Use https://fast.com/ instead.

    I used to think I had a slow Internet service until I purchased a new Dell laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 - 12GB Memory - AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 - 256GB Solid State Drive.

    I don't see how any service could be any faster than what I've got now. Everything is instant. The computer can be off and I can turn it on and be on line in under 15 seconds, check my E-mail and turn it back off long before my old computers ever got up and running. Downloads are instant.

    I think that the problem is when people hit Post New Reply, and then hit the Page Back.

    If you hit the Jump To box and select General Discussion, you don't get double (or triple) posts.

    My son's laptop goes from off to on in less than two seconds. Mine is a lot slower but the download speed averages about 95.

    The overpriced DSL disservice I receive from Frontier Communications, Inc. is slower than steam off of a dog turd.

    use ookla.com speed test to see what your provider is actually giving you. use fast.com from netflix to see what your streaming speed is. they are two very different kinds of testing. wireless connections are usually a little slower than a wired connection. ping, jitter, and latency, are all numbers you want to see under 20. latency under load can run high as 500 milliseconds using the fast.com type of testing.

    Here on the plateteu between Nashville and Knoxville, our Frontier
    service is pure garbage!!
