54 days and a wake up..........

Until I am retired. I have a bajillion plans. Dig a new pond, put some goats in the brush. Fence the farm. Rehab the barn and get some horses. See some sights to include the redwoods and Alaska. Have decided to sell the big camper and travel in the small one. I'm 57 and ready to have some fun instead of working for the government until I can't enjoy myself.

    I am 60 coming up on my 5th anniversary of my retirement. It has been a great gig !!!! I hunt, fish and shoot when I feel like it. Our farm gives me enough work to stay busy...

    End your career well and move on to a well deserved change.

    I'm retiring 1/31 after 33 yrs with USPS. I tell my Postmaster that I hate my job. And I mean it. I'm actually collecting SS right now. They told me I can earn $17,640 a year without any penalty so I put 1/1/19 as my SS start date and I'll collect 3 paychecks and turn in about 30 days of annual leave which will bring me to about $15,000 by the end of 1/19. I've got 5 plumbing nightmares in progress here so I'll keep busy.

    2 years and 3 months to go for me.
    My first year of retirement I'll be building a new house for me and the wife, I'll probably work harder than I have for the last 20!!!
    After that, if I have the energy, the fish better look out!!

    I was "forced" to retire at 57 too. Two heart attacks from a
    very stressful job. Doc said don't worry about having a 3rd
    heart attack; because it would be my last. [V]

    Go enjoy doing things YOU want to do...not having to do things
    OTHERS want you to do.
