I complained -

The new Power line that ran behind my house was right in the sight line of my shooting, off my rear deck, into our large (1 acre) pond behind my house. Floating leaves at 100-200 yards, are my go to target.

I'm just noticing they tensioned/raised the line about 10-15.' [:D]


I was just kidding. [:0] It's really nice to be on very good terms with the Power Co. Guys/Crews. [:D]


Feeding them really well, was a great idea.

    might have made neighbors mad, but you could have tried the ole cowboy shooting and split the electric line with one shot, fall in pond and have fried fish for the rest of the week, jeesh just think ahead.........[;)]

    You shoot at leaves floating in water from a distance of 100-200 yards presumably with a rifle?

    Do you know where the ricochet is landing?"

    Depends on the angle he's shooting. He said the high-tension power lines were in sight-line of his shooting. They don't string those lines really low.

    Maybe he'll chime back in with some more info, like topography and stuff.

    My deck is about 3-4 stories above the pond. My back deck is at the 2nd story level. The ground falls away sharply to the pond. The pond is lined by a high bank/trees. I only shoot in one direction. (Away from the one house downrange.


    Yes, I shoot at floating leaves, at 100-200 yards. "Aim small, miss small." (My favorite targets.) YVMD.

    Why make it so easy on yourself I aim at the mites nuts on the Flies on the leaves.

    Sheeit, my 26 year old Son, is deadly accurate at 100 yards with my Marlin 81DL, (.22 S,L,LR) at 100 yards on leaves. (Olympic grade Peep sights.) Forearm on deck rail. I am amazed at his accuracy, with this firearm. [:D]

    Ihave been taught to never shoot in the water. I dont care what angle you are shooting at, its a foolish practice.

    My question did not concern your target or range.

    It concerns the "backstop", but you have explained that.

    Yes, I agree - a leaf at 100 yards is a "good" target . . . especially if you miss. You can always say it was the other leaf (assuming you are shooting into a tree).
