Starbucks blocking porn on wifi: Good Idea or Bad?

Starbucks is set to block customers from being able to watch pornography on the WiFi provided in its coffee stores next year, following a campaign from anti-Internet porn organization Enough is Enough.

Good or Bad Idea:

YES w/o a doubt the idea to "ban" something from their "free" wifi is a winner and libtards everywhere will rally around. Coffee sales will go up

NO Who cares what someone watches while sipping expensive coffee with their little finger sticking out. If anything sales will go down.

    I understand their policy, when you share internet signals, you can get viruses that the other people are bringing from the sites they go to.

    Anyone ever notice gun sites are blocked on some public wifi? Their wifi, their choice. It's a free country.

    They're just announcing it for publicity, trying to stay in the news. Old saying ... any publicity is good publicity.

    I can remember when it used to be that way, but activists courts have made decision counter to that precept.

    I don't go to Starbucks, and I don't look at porn. I also understand a business not wanting to have porn visible to customers and children that do not wish to, or shouldn't see such things.

    What I don't understand is how is blocking it on their in house wi-fi connection going to stop a freak from watching it over their data connection?

    Answer,.....it isn't.

    The truly sad part is that there are pervs/freaks that would even do such things in the first place, i.e. watch porn in public where others can see it.

    Kinda reminds me of the classless people that speak/shout with utter vulgarity out in public. Some folks just need to have their azz kicked, and taught a lesson.[xx(]

    I agree with you, I hate when people swear in public. It actually makes my skin crawl, not say this I'm not above saying a bad word or two. But I also know my audience and adjust the way I talk took it the audience.

    But like I said it makes my skin crawl when people swear in public. But I just grit my teeth bare it, because I will not take away a person's constitutional right of freedom of speech... That's not to say that I won't remind them that there are others present that may not like their way of expressing themselves. But that's as far as I would take it

    I just think its weird to go someplace like that and get on a computer anyway. people use to go into public to interact with people. sometimes you see a table full of people and there all on their phones, it makes me wonder why they bother to go out with each other , there is minimal interaction. there just together.
