Electrical question...

A question for the electricians....I have no power in my laundry room on the main floor...no power in the dining room on the main floor....and no power in the bathroom that's directly above the laundry room...no circuit breakers have tripped..there is power in the rest of the house..

This happened to me once before, and if I remember correctly, the power & light guys told me that one phase was out coming into the house.

Does this sound plausible.....I want to call the right people...

    Look at your breaker box. Are all the dead circuits on one side of it? If so then that phase may be the problem.

    Are any 220 v circuits having problems? Since they use both phases one dead phase would cause them problems too.

    What Wild Turkey said. If you have a volt meter, you can troubleshoot it.

    In the laundry room the only thing that has power is the dryer..

    Check all the ground fault breakers at the electrical outlets.

    Bingo!!! that was it...reset the ground fault breaker at the outlet in the laundry you.....

    I know that he has his answer already, but just want to correct your
    post about "one side of it". Panels have the phases alternating from top to bottom, A to B phase
    Don't want some one to get hurt.

    Before you download a picture on imgur go over to the right side of the page where it says Auto Resize and click on the drop down to where it shows 640 x 480 (message boards) and click it so that it resizes the picture to 640 x 480. And then you won't be posting monster pictures.

    Brain fart. Been out in the heat too long. I was thinking about using a meter on the right/left phases[:(]
