Looking to buy a flashlight, need advice

I want a light that is powerful but still kinda compact. I looked for one on GunBroker but know so little about them. If someone can give me a link to a good one, I will name my next child after them. (not really). Thanks.

    I've got a Streamlight Strion led. Lithium rechargeable battery, bright as you can want, and small enough to mount. Little pricey but trusted and durable.

    Streamlights are good lights. (I agree.)

    I received a Mongo Pro from work last year. It is 8" long, about 1" in diameter. (Takes 3 C cells) it is very well made, ridiculously bright, swivel head from fine to wide beam, tail switch (rubber) On/Off.

    It's been my go to light, since I received it.


    Smaller than that, I'd look for a "Cree," bulb. Very bright for their size. Several gun lights that have these, very pleased with them.


    Go to Campmor.com. (I used to manage them.) Go to their flashlight section. They carry high end/state of the art. (Just a suggestion.)

    I have a Fenix PD35 that is amazingly bright.
    Paid near $100 for it 5 or 6 years ago.

    Not sure what they go for now.

    I've got a Led Lenser that is a pretty cool. High/low beam, narrow/wide angle beam. Very bright.

    LED..rechargeable ...ultrafire pocket ones zoom use a 14500 just over 3-1/2" long...bigger WF-502B just over 5" use 18650...both 3.7 volt

    I have a couple of Fenix's that I use daily at my shop. Dropped countless times in all sorts of fluids and still going strong many years later. They are LD20's

    I also have a Led Lenser and love it.
    Broke the battery pack frame and they replaces the whole lite!

    I have two Surefire Tactical (compact) style lights! Great lights with a lifetime warranty that Surefire stands behind. I had a problem with one of them after about three years and they replaced it with the newest version; I just had to pay for shipping it to them.

    I have several shirt buyers of varying sizes. They all have rechargeable lithium batteries. And of course all three are LED And all are different Lumems. What you need to do is figure out how many lumens you need and get the size that fits your needs.

    we have I would bet 30 + flashlights around here I can say the cheap Chinese knock offs with rechargeable batteries have done well all were less than 20 bucks with shipping most are the "head light style "
    have 1/2 dozen mag lights from the aa to the 5 D cell size still going strong couple are led but are heavy and dated now with all the new advances
    surefire on a couple rifles and a shotgun
    I guess I have no one special pick just try out some see what you like
    If my life depended on one I would go with a surefire / stream light or some other better brand name

    I do know any one would beat the 2 d cell flashlights we had at home when I was a kid that worked about 1/3 of the time had to wack them to get contact ( and heat the battery's on the stove to get all we could out of them ) but it was a flash light in some sense of the word [xx(]

    I've always favored the 'Mag Lite'brand,but sure hear a lot about the new LED's.

    Have one of these guys in my Pocket. As bright a light as I have ever had. Its at least 2 years old.

    For a pocket sized penlight look at the Streamlight Stylus Pro in fact on our fire dept we are transitioning to all Streamlight products as our other brands need replacement

    I been wanting this Karambit Flashlight but I don't like the style of the batteries. Strobeforce D-Tac 1000 (had to look up the name since it's been a while).

    Then I've been kind a thinking Maglite 2 D cell or 2 C cell ones (if they still make those). Just so I don't have to get the "specialized" batteries. Kind a like the way I buy guns. Ease of being able to get ammo without too much shopping.

    Battery recharge with mini usb. I use it everyday. Carry it like a wallet

    Get the FREE ones from Harbor Freight. Now you have to buy something but I have a drawer full of the really free ones.

    Carried a Streamlte in FD - good light
    Mostly Mag Lites here with LED conversions. 1 4 "D"cell for noggins
    My wifes has one I got her w/ a built in stun gun for when she runs every morning. Small LED light w/a BIG ZAP

    For non LED, Maglight hands down.

    For LED, Surefire, Streamlight.

    Can't go wrong with any of those.

    I have about 6 maglights hanging around the house so I don't have to look for one. Because this light is for my wife to have in her car, this is the one I will get for her. Thanks guys for all the good suggestions.

    No more suggestions from users on GB? Gee, just when I was going to post about a combination tactical flashlight, that was also a stun gun with pepper spray. Only one mfg. in world. [:(]
