Feel better about that,,
Replaced all the outlets in the garage. It is a 20amp circuit and they had 15amp outlets. They were old and brittle.
Replaced with 20a outlets,with first in line a GFCI. Wired all downstream outlets on load side,so now all outlets are GFCI protected.
Ran the garage door up/down several times and the freezer was running. Did not trip out GFI,which is a good thing. (sometimes wiring in GFCI with some appliances will cause nuisance tripping) Tested each outlet with the trip tester,all function as should. [^][^][^][^][^]

Well,they got the power back on in the neighborhood. I left my lights all off and pretended I'm not home.
