    I'm all for protecting the border so I say go for it, but tanks would never be used for their intended purpose.

    Maybe not, but it's the intimidation factor...and it is extremely effective. It is also a show of force for all the other countries watching wondering just how fast could the US mobilize to its border for a defensive posture
