China blinked, we are heading in the right dir.
The White House announced Saturday that President Trump has agreed not to further raise tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese imports from ten percent to 25 percent as he had previously threatened, after a dinner meeting at the G-20 summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In exchange, China will agree to purchase a ?not yet agreed upon, but very substantial? amount of agricultural, energy, industrial, and other product from the U.S., to reduce the trade imbalance between the two countries, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in the statement.
China has agreed to start purchasing agricultural product from our farmers immediately, it said.
In addition, Trump and Xi have agreed to immediately begin negotiations on structural changes with respect to forced technology transfer, intellectual property protection, non-tariff barriers, cyber intrusions and cyber theft, services, and agriculture, Sanders said.
?Both parties agree that they will endeavor to have this transaction completed within the next 90 days. If at the end of this period of time, the parties are unable to reach an agreement, the 10% tariffs will be raised to 25%,? she said.

China's economy needs the US to consume their products...the US economy is stronger than any in the world and can absorb any stress the tariffs put on it, far longer than China can. 0 -

Until they can get all the technology they can get from us and enable their population to be wealthy enough to consume their own products they make.
Oh yeah, the import/export differences and The USA 22 trillion in debt with rising interest rates is a time bomb for us right now we have the Santa Claus effect wait until next spring comes.
Who is going to buy our debt when we can't afford to consume Chinese products anymore?? It's a catch 22 event with a reset at The BIS Bank in Switzerland by 2020.

Improving fiscal accounts is a challenge for all economies, developed or not.
Here it's important to keep in mind that financial imbalances such as significant increases in credit or asset prices hide fiscal problems. This occurred, for instance, in Ireland and Spain in the years leading up to the crisis.

Thank you again President Trunp. 0 -
The media will spin it again as a demodung win for them or something. Trump plays hard and wins great.
Can you imagine the dungpile that he went in to. Crooked, lying, traitorous people in all the alphabet agencies, a crooked president that just left and a complete sham he was running against. Think about the DIRTY dung ridden snowball he has to deal with.0 -
Good to know. Cause we were really Dreading these new Tariffs. 0 -

I pity the world you live in.
Trade deficits are not necessarily a bad thing for healthy economies.
Trump KNEW the Chinese HAD to come to the table; the transfer of technology and cyber-crimes/theft at the top of the "this crap WILL stop" list.
As I pointed out long ago a trade war with China means China loses and entire arm, never to regrow. America gets a bruised thumb, yea it hurts for a while but no permanent damage.
The Commies have to settle this or face a revolt from their billion people that will set them back 50 years and challenge the Commies power.
Nobody wins a trade war, China knows that and must walk back the years of inept Commie boot lickers like Obama running our trade policy.0 -

I pity your philosophy of America going to a creditor nation to a debtor nation as a good thing for the common american citizen. Also, the debasing of our currency at the same time so tell it to your friendly politicos up there in Washington D.C.on How great of a job they have done for The NWO reset coming soon!

Debtor Nation explains how in recent decades American consumers and households got more and more access to credit at the very time they became less and less able to handle the resulting debts. The recent financial crisis and the anemic recovery from the resulting Great Recession have exposed this Achilles heel of modern finance. Louis Hyman's illuminating history shows how financial innovations sponsored by government, banks, and Wall Street induced Americans to shoot themselves in the foot by trying to live beyond their means. Sadly, now the party's over."--Richard Sylla, New York University
"This revelatory book explores the hidden history of the complex web of personal credit and debt that unraveled in the recent financial crisis. Louis Hyman persuasively shows that the infrastructure of debt has been decades in the making and been driven by a perverse and often unforeseen combination of market forces and government policies. This should be required reading for students of consumer culture, the history of capitalism, and anyone who wants to know why Americans are now drowning in debt. A pathbreaking, important book."--Stephen A. Mihm, University of Georgia0 -
So, will the farmers have to repay all that bailout money back? 0 -

Debtor nation never came into my explanation of Trumps Trade policy now did it?
Debt ain't good but that is a different topic for a different time and has little to zero to do with the BS America's past Administrations let slide to the detriment of. our nation. Same goes with NAFTA and the changes Trump made that balance the scales a bit more.
I am all for fair, balanced approaches to other nations and, much to my surprise and approval, Trump has been remarkably successful in this arena.0 -

I sure hope so.0 -
I hope this means the farmers will be able to sell their goods and a decent profit without having to sell corn to the fuel industry. Imagine a America where farmers ars able to sell their products at a tidy profit, and this removes the incentive to sell corn to the govt for fuel. Then we all have higher energy yield, less harmful to our engines gasoline, that is available all over the countries.
Is it this simple? Nope, not by a long shot, but I can dream.... [:D]0
