Yea we played plenty of ball together from age 4 or 5 until i stopped at 35.
I still have 3 guns i bought of him. I bought a Mossberg 835 Ultra Mag and a Ruger 700 ADL 30-06 and a Sears 270.0 -
Very sorry to hear about your friend Dave. Just last month, a lifelong friend of mine decided he had enough and put a bullet through his head.
Strange as this may sound but,
I am wondering when I should delete his name and number off of my cell phone and land line. Erase him off Facebook friends page.[V]
I feel as long as his name still pops up that he is still around. Just dreaming for sure and until I do these things I know I will not be able to move on.
I posted about him back in May (about a month before he died) when he came over and stayed at my place for a couple of nights. He had put a small piece of treated lumber into his fire place and insisted that he had contaminated his entire home and body.[V]
When he was here, he brought along his young Golden Retriever and wanted me to take care of her. I wanted to but the dog did not take kindly to my backyard free range chickens.
I should have seen the signs. I keep kicking myself for not doing more to help my friend. He was like a brother to me and I will not forgive myself for not paying closer attention to his mental plight.0 -

It's hard, if not impossible to see in to another Man's mind, Brookwood. Try not to beat yourself up. (Easy to say, hard to do - I know.)
I'm sorry for both your and Dave's friend.
I speak the name of several of my Army buddies (lost too early,) on an almost daily basis. Same belief, if they are not forgotten - they live on. I like to think they are looking down on me when we talk.0 -

Brookwood, had you more clearly seen his distress there is actually not much you could have done. You could not force help on him and you could not monitor him 24 hours. Mental illness is not unlike cancer in leaving those who care helpless. 0 -
Sorry to hear about your lose, but just remember he chose his way of life and possible death... Don't beat yourself up over it, it was by his choice 0 -

You also sat with him and talked with him in his hour of need. There's a hell of a lot to be said for just being a good friend.0 -
