I Think This Is Cool
My daughter brought her boyfriend over for us to meet him. They have been dating for a year now. LOL
Her 14 year old boy Cameron asked me when he could spend the weekend with me again. I told him anytime he wants to but if its cold i can not go out and do a whole lot. I had to explain about arthritis and cold.
I told him that he is about the age where they dont want anything to do with adults. He told me he would never get that old.
He told me everytime he comes over he learns things. I show him how to do simple things like change oil, rotate tires. Build shelves and use power tools.
Over the summer he made a knife case and a gun case. They came out really good. Truth be told they would have been cheaper if i bought them but we would not have had the time together.
Plus somehow we go through a lot of ammo when he visits. We shoot enough so i spread out tarps to catch all the brass. We will clean guns. Right now we are refinishing the stock on a beat up old shotgun thats not worth 100 dollars. Just to show him how its done.
When he ask me a ? on how to do something i make him figure it out on his own. I will give him a hint or two and let him figure it out. He is growing up to be a fine young man.

Good on you Dave. Sounds like you are setting a fine example, and teaching as you go.
Does not get much better than that. That a 14 yr. old wants to spend time with you, speaks volumes.

He loves tannerite. He has shot more than his share. He is about to break me with ammo, and tannerite.
The only thing that helps me is we can not shoot when grandma is home.

Maybe not...I didn't really care to bother with girls until I was older than that. I have a really good friend who didn't go on his first date until he was 25...that being said at least she was smoking hot and nice.0
