"Backwoods bumpkins" most likely is a reference to rural folks not "in the know" about big city life. You know, the "hayseed yokel" type. Often used in a derogatory comment by people who don't know where their food comes from.

Basicaly we from the country see all urbanites as the Grizwalds and the urbanites see all of us as extras from the movie Deliverance. City slickers vs rednecks/hillbillies, we have out way of life and they have thiers. I?m a hick but I visit many cities as a paid ?tourist? and while some cities facinate me and others make me want to vomit I enjoy seeing some of them but I often wonder just how screwed up a persons head has to be to be able to live like a rat in a sardine can. I get teased because Walmart is 70 miles from my garage door to thier parking lot but I like it that way, I can shoot guns out my back door without fear of a SWAT team showing up, I can pee on the bush in my backyard without being a sex offender and it?s quiet. So they tease us and we tease them, they?re just jealous that when they look out the window all they see is people a d when I look out the window I see mountains and critters.

I haven't traveled abroad and known all the famous chefs and all the Hoolyweird elite, so I am a country bumpkin, with a drug habit, ignorant, disabled, and on welfare. That's me from my understanding. I did get out of my county one time and stayed at a Holiday Inn and had baked possum (corn fed) with all the trimmings.

Dats cause he likely lib in Germani.

One had a fellow who lived in Chicago saying on a forum that all things good came out of the big cities and that was where to elite and refined folks lived.

Shortly prior to that I seen an article on a "artist" who had a work in the Chicago museum . The work entailed throwing his fesses at a canvas. I asked this fellow if that is what he meant by being refined. Never did get an answer, but if chickens, hogs, and cows count I sure shoveled a lot of refined art out of the barn and spread it in the field.

Whack-a-doodle may be another name for the arcade game Whack-a-mole. Basically there is a surface with a bunch of holes a toy mole pops up in alternating holes and the player trys to hit it before the disappears into the hole. If the mole is hit you score points.

Not sure what it signifies. Perhaps Dems popping up with some off the wall theory or allegation and then disappearing before they can be rebuffed. Perhaps others have a better guess or actually know what Whack a doodle means.
