10 mm blackhawk

out looking around yesterday and came across a stainless ruger blackhawk in 10mm with a spare cylinder in 40 S&W. my first thought was why? then my second and third thought was why? is there any caliber less useful than these two in a revolver. the only good thing is you would have both calibers in only one gun.

    May be a collectors item soon. Dealer here cant sell them, especially when you can get an SR1911 for not much more.

    Always been a Ruger fan, but they do come up with duds every once in a while.

    Sounds like a good one to me. Wouldn't mind having one with a 10 1/2" barrel.

    Yeah the spare .40S&W is kind a wasted since with moon clips they can be shot through the 10mm. Unless they don't come with moon clips.

    I was thumbing through the Turner Winter Catalog and I saw Ruger GP100 in 10mm. Don't know if that uses moon clips either?

    The Gp 100 comes with 3 moon clips

    I thought that was a bad idea when I first heard of it but it actually makes good sense. As long as the bathroom has a good lock on the door & is only for one person, why not? If you have two bathrooms in your house do you have them labeled Men's & women's? Why wait when there is an empty restroom?

    I have a Smith 25-2 in .45acp I like, but in a Blackhawk .44-40 is more to my traditional taste.[:)]

    I have a "Buckeye" special in .38-40/10mm that I bought when they first came out. The ballistics of the 10mm from that 6 1/2" barrel are pretty impressive. Factory loads are quite hot (175 gr. Winchester loads chronograph 1327 fps).

    Of course, handloads are necessary if you're going to get much out of the .38-40 (newer 180 gr. factory loads clock 800 fps).
