My Buddy just received his 6.5 Creedmor Ruger Precision Rifle. We were talking about FDE. [He already owns a Ruger precision rifle in .22LR. (Black)`Very nice.]

Get this, he ordered it in the new Ruger Red. (WTH?)

He asked my opinion, before he let me know he had already ordered it in that color. Kind of a what do you think? I told him him, "if you ever have to use that rifle for what it was intended for, Red would be the last color you'd want. [B)][xx(][:0]


Anyway, just texted me photos. "What do you think?"

"I think it looks G.A.Y." [:D]


Honest opinions hurt.

    It's not just a "red stocked rifle," most of it, except the barrel, the heat shield, and the bolt handle, are red.

    My worls clas 10/22 target build has a nice flame job done by a good air brush artist the length of the stock. I had gotten an "unfinished tacticool" Boyds stock from midway for dirt cheap on a close out, rattle canned it flat black. Fixed a friends network at his house, he wanted to do something for me, so I turned him loose on it. Came out real nice. And since it is only a bench gun, its lack of camo, tacticoolness, etc. isn't an issue. Does get more than a few "wow that's nice!" type comments...

    If it truly is Worls Klas, the hole in the target will get smaller after each shot.

    Hey, if you can drill a hole smaller, why can't you shoot one smaller?[:D][:I]

    Just curious what you think the 'intended' purpose of that 'precision' rifle is and why red would affect it's ability to do what it's designed to do?

    I have a S&W 686 stainless .357 that I painted bright blue, my favorite color. The front sight has an orange spot on it. It is a very colorful revolver that is quite accurate as well. I shot several deer with it; none complained of the unusual color.
