Spent the morning in the hospital
I've had heart palpitations since at least the early 1970's, but this morning was totally different. Instead of lasting a few seconds, it went on for a couple of hours. Went to the same hospital that did my bypass, since my cardiologist and cardiac surgeon are there.
They hooked me up to a monitor and drew blood, and asked a bunch of questions. They did capture several minor "events", but nothing like this mornings. So they hooked me up to a Holter monitor and sent me on my way. I go back Wed. to get unhooked and then wait for the evaluation.
Hopefully they won't say pacemaker. The Dr. did say they might use a probe to shock a heart muscle, which doesn't sound like that much more pleasant.
I should know something by weeks end, maybe.

Recon it was atrial fibrillation/flutter that went on for two hours. Also from my understanding a pacemaker is for when your heart is beating to slowly. 0 -

BubbaJr, did you ever consider a heart ablation to help your AFIB. I believe the success rate is over 85% and might be able to stop medications. If you have AFIB and don't take blood thinner lots of folks out there setting themselves up for a stroke.(long story with my wife, will explain to you folks someday)Once you go on blood thinner, if you have a lot of pain from injury that can't be fixed, you are screwed because you can't take Ibuprofen etc. I think with the Ablation they cauterize the sinus node and signal takes a different path. 0 -

spent the nite back in april in the er,,25,000 later with all tests , asked what cause the palps duh we dont know it is now a wait and see 0 -
So far today it's been business as usual, nothing abnormal for me, just a few flutters that lasted a couple of seconds, then quit.
My brother is a Chiropractor, and he said dehydration can bring on those symptoms. So last night I drank plenty of water. And the strange thing is, I didn't have to get up to pee during the night. [:D]0 -

That was a good read, thank you. They took 4 vials of blood yesterday, I'll ask them about the CoQ10.
Every time I've been to the doctor or a hospital, it's at least a month before we see a summary of the bills sent in to Medicare and our health insurance, what they paid, and what we owe. It's usually 0$, otherwise not much.
By the way, I'm on Metformin, Lisinopril, and Atorvastatin, along with 83mg of Aspirin.0 -

I go to the hospital this afternoon to turn in my monitor. I'll be glad to be rid of it, then I can finally take a shower.[:D]
I probably won't know anything until early next week.
