1911 cycle speed,,
how long does it take 1911 to make a full cycle from the time the trigger is pulled??

Faster than my sundial, plus its nighttime. 0 -
Depends on what pound recoil spring you have in it... The heavier the poundage, the faster the cycle, the lighter the poundage the slower the cycle...
But in any case, faster than you can pull the trigger0 -
Standard spring, slide, and .45 Ball ammo, 0.06 seconds, or roughly 1/16 of a second. 0 -

O.k.,o.k.,,,how fast is your's??0 -
I'm gonna just stick to 1/16 of a second,,, 0 -
When the 3 Pit Bulls came after me in my front yard, I think I fired 2 rounds at 1/99th of a second![:0] 0 -
I was timing a bowling pin match, and had a shooter's 1911 go full auto. When it was empty, it was pointing up about 60 degrees. Happened so fast it sounded like one big noise. He did hit the first pin though! Eight 200 gr. cast handloads gone like PFFFFFT! 0 -

Joe, have no equipment to measure such,,,,,,,,,I do know one of the instructors in my first class said a full auto 1911 will empty the mag. in less than 1 second and leave ya a little change ,,,,,,[:o)]
And knowing what you now know, you would have asked; 5 rounds (Bullseye shooting), 7 rounds (stock mag), 8 rounds, or 10 round mag?
5 rounds in 1 second = 300 rounds per minute (RPM) which is slooow BUT exciting and breath taking none the less!
7 rounds = 420 rpm
8 rounds = 480 r/m
10 rounds = 600 rpm (Which is 'about' the rate of a M3 Grease Gun)0 -
I believe Miculeks record is 27 rounds in under 4 seconds that was a highly modified 1911
Found this. go to the 19 mins to see what a 1911 can do

.04
that is not how fast a human can pull the trigger, as others have answered, but rather how fast a slide can cycle
when i was heavy into competition, there where several people claiming that they where so fast they had to wait on the slide to cycle, so it was put to a test with high speed camera, and that was the number
my splits {that is what its called}, mine where .11 on target and to give you an idea of human perception a blink of an eye is .35
a single action revolver in the proper hands can be cycled at .02, which is faster than the human ear can register the sound and distinguish 1 shot from 20 -

Who are others???
people not me [:D]
others have answered cyclic rate of full auto, or human trigger pull, not cyclic rate of a single shot, which is how i perceived the question
trigger pull-fire-eject-load-battery = .040
