Seven officers shot in Florence SC
Suspect is actively engaging law enforcement. It's reported three deputies and two city officers have been shot. This is just developing. I am assuming bad guy has a rifle....

Officer Terrence Carraway, a 30 year veteran, was part of a group of four Florence officers attempting to rescue the three wounded deputies initially shot. All four officers were shot, and Carraway was killed. 0 -

The shooter was a 3 Gun and Match shooter it seems. Me was using an M1a from a second story window and started the ball rolling when the Police were 100 yds away.
They had to use an MRAP to get close to the house and to pick up the wounded.
I doubt the cops had on a vest that will stop a 308[V]

The man accused of shooting seven police officers in a dramatic South Carolina stand off has been identified as 74-year-old Fred Hopkins.
Hopkins allegedly fired at the officers with a high powered rifle from a second story window as they tried to serve a search warrant in an upscale Florence neighborhood on Wednesday, killing one and leaving the others injured.
Florence County Chief Deputy Glenn Kirby said Hopkins is currently hospitalized with a head injury and unable to speak with officers.
He is believed to have fallen at the scene.
Hopkins is a disbarred lawyer who has had multiple run-ins with police in recent years.
In 2014, he was charged with disorderly conduct, and has two charges from 2015 and 2017 for 'running at large' - not restraining one's animals.
Public records show he's the husband of Florence divorce attorney Cheryl Turner-Hopkins. Family members have said on Facebook she was not present at the time of the shooting.
Officers were trying to serve a warrant involving an accusation Seth Hopkins, 27, sexually assaulted a foster child in the home when the dramatic shooting began, NBC reported.
Fred Hopkins has been identified as Seth Hopkins' father.
Police said Seth Hopkins was shot and in surgery. It is not known whether he was shot by his father or police.0 -

And people demand to know why localities acquired MRAPs from the DOD. Well here is your reason. I am glad they had access to one or the death toll could have been much higher. 0 -
The story said the guy has had run ins with the law like he has had a life time of criminal activity. From what I read he actually only has one disorderly conduct conviction and 2 convictions for letting his animals run free and all of those in the past 4 years. Maybe he has Alzheimer's since he's 74 years old which could be the reason he went nuts? Who knows what these nuts are thinking? 0 -
He was disbarred in the 80's for improper dispersal of funds. I wonder if both he and his son were shooting at police. He is supposedly hospitalized witha head injury and not conscious according to local Florence radio news. 0 -
