Cop shoots black security guard
Here we go again:
Jemel Roberson, 26, was working security at a bar in Robbins, Illinois, early Sunday when a gunman opened fire inside the bar.
Roberson was armed and licensed to carry a gun. He apprehended the gunman outside the bar, pinned him down and was waiting for police help when a responding officer from the neighboring town of Midlothian arrived.
Police say the officer ordered Roberson to drop his gun. Witnesses say they shouted that Roberson was a security guard. The officer shot and killed Roberson.

This story has changed a couple of times,,When it first happened the media was reporting there were several witnesses that heard the officer repeatedly command the guard to drop his weapon,, Now those people are no longer interviewed 0 -

So I keep hearing the term security officer, but it sounds like he was a bouncer, dressed in civilian attire. If he wasn't in a uniform, and the Police are saying he wasn't wearing anything saying he was security, then how is the responding officer to know who he is? We don't know how the call was dispatched, or what people may have said when the officer first arrived. The folks protesting this shooting are framing it as though it should have been obvious and apparent this guy was a good guy, when nothing thus far points to that truth. 0 -
So predictable, maybe it had to do with he had a gun and was on top of someone.
The shooting outside Manny's Blue Room Lounge in Robbins has drawn national headlines, outrage and questions about whether race factored into the officer?s decision to open fire. Roberson was black. The officer is white.
So what color was the original shooter the bouncer was subduing? Or did the bouncer start the whole thing?0
