Really do not want to go to work
Earlier this year the Guy who worked with me retired. Company Keep saying we are working on finding a replacement. Well that was March and no relief in sight.
Now the Salesman is out sick(not sure if he will return or retire) and I fill in for him when He is gone So I am now doing sales and design.
My Vacation days are almost maxed out, no I have not used them they on allow us to collect so much then we stop earning them.
And I see no change in the near future.

if they won't give you the time off, I would atleast expect pay for the days instead of losing them... 0 -

They don't pay for the days cause some idiots on Salary like me Kept taking time off but not taking Vacation. Then selling back their Vacation. So the big boss stopped all Salaried folks from selling back vacation.
I do need to ask for a raise Cause I'm not doing the work of two its 3.0 -
You have some choices:
1. Tell them you want a raise and keep on doing the work of 3 people.
2. Tell them "as of <date> I am only going to do the job I was hired to do.
3. Walk if 1 or 2 doesn't work.
4. Keep on doing the work of 3 people at the same pay.
You can ONLY be taken advantage of if you let them do it!

^^^^this...you do have choices...you may not like them, but they
are there. It sounds like you should put in for some vacation time. You're not a hero for not taking vacation, and in the end it's not going to get you extra brownie points. The employer/employee relationship is one of mutual benefit, if one side is not benefiting someone should change the equation. There isn't any more loyalty afforded to those that "suffer" and don't make use of their benefits.0 -
One to old to start somewhere else again. Only needed to hold out about 3 years.
But change may come cause the Salesman that I fill in for is not doing well He needs surgery. He also has put in notice to retire at the end of the year.
They are trying to get more folks but with the way they do It I will end up training his replacement.
He has also been doing the Job of the Plant Manager since the last guy retired about 2 years ago. The guy who will take over that job I'm not sure of how that will work out he does not have much of a backbone.
To get something done as in raise I may have to wait till the Head guy from Corporate makes a visit and corner him.0 -

Similar situation here.
Large highly-automated manufacturing plant.
I'm the Process Control/Automation engineer for the facility.
The Electrical Engineer that handled high-Voltage and power distribution has retired after 35 years of experience. Both of us had FULL Plates, and now I'm eating from both.
I'm stuck handling both jobs, corporate has a history of trying NOT to replace staff so I'm not holding my breath.
If it stays a couple more months, I'm asking for more money. I'd suggest you do that now.0 -
